Talkie Tuesday: Moana 2

"Together still, just a little different."

Hello everyone!

Welcome to a different movie choice for tonight's blog, and when I say different, I mean I haven't watched something GOOD by Disney, animated that is, for a long while.

I actually think that Moana back in 2016 might have been the last good thing, but I digress.

I'd been wanting to see the sequel to that specific movie since FOREVER, but truth be told I just don't have the time nor energy to go into cinemas and watch movies there.

It's just so much more comfortable to do it in your own home.

Which is why, once it hit Disney+, it was really only a matter of time when I was going to have a peek.

This past weekend, after having an extended period off from work due to holidays, I finally got round to it, and honestly ... I have mixed feelings. I'll explain as we go along.

But first, grab your boat snack and boat snack upgrade, and make sure you've got your vocal chords all warmed up, because we're sailing beyond the horizon in Moana 2.

Talkie Tuesday: Black Adam

"Some men are not meant to be heroes."

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the last non-Christmas related post for a while, as starting this Thursday we go into the yearly extravaganza that this blog offers.

I know, I know, everyone gets bored with it long before it's over, BUT.

I kind of like doing the themed posts for the one month that we get.

So I'm looking forward to it, aren't you?

Anyway, before we can do any of that, however, we do still have this one day of the regular posts left, so here we go.

This weekend was fun for me as I participated in a video game from afar (via video call) AND watched a pretty fun movie too while I was at it.

It had action, it had wit, and it had quite a good cast, not to mention the surprise at the end.

I'm talking about Black Adam, of course.

Talkie Tuesday: Red Notice

"Always appreciate a quality double-cross."

Hello everyone!

This is it. We made it.

The last non-Christmas blog post for this calendar year, as starting this Thursday we're heading straight into that extravaganza as soon as we can manage it!

Honestly, I'm a little bit excited, because I tend to enjoy the holiday related stuff I post on my blog over the month of December, and there's got to be some holly jolly on here, right? After all, there's so much other stuff going on it isn't even funny anymore.

So before we unveil what the first holiday-themed book is going to be, let's have one last look back at what people are saying was probably a fun movie for the most part.

And I mean, it was.

But I think my expectations were too high because I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as I thought I would, in the end.

So let's roll in with Red Notice and see what it's about, shall we?

Talkie Tuesday: Jungle Cruise

"One person is world enough."

Hello everyone!

If you're lucky enough to live in the US, you've probably been to Disney at some point in time, and in that point in time you've also, most probably, taken their Jungle cruise ride in the theme parks.

I've had no such luck in my life BUT when I heard there was going to be a movie based off it, well, I was hooked.

Then I kind of forgot about it until I accidentally spotted something on Instagram and recalled that, yes, I kind of STILL want to watch it!

And so this past Sunday I went and sat down, and ended up laughing for about an hour and a half. My stomach muscles still hurt two days later, not to mention my face since I've also been watching all sorts of interviews with the cast online.

There's just so much sheer joy that went into making this movie, I can't even begin to describe it.

So hold on to your pants, it's time we took a little joyride down the Amazon river, and in case you haven't figured it out yet ... it's gonna be a bumpy ride! Jungle Cruise, here we go.

Talkie Tuesday: Jumanji The Next Level

"I swear man, if we survive, I am gonna kill you!"

Hello everyone!

Sadly, there was no Outlander this previous weekend as the show has apparently decided to leave us hanging (literally) to see the aftermath of the shocking revelation that was the end of The Ballad of Roger Mac.

Now, I'm a book reader, so I know what happens, and I've managed to gnaw my way through the re-read of The Fiery Cross as well, meaning I know which big points the series will attempt to hit going forward.

But STILL.

So while there is nothing to report on the Outlander front, I've been watching the occasional movie when time allowed.

Not much, you see, but just enough to keep interested in all the stuff happening on the big screen.

And while I may be behind on several more popular releases, I figured it couldn't hurt to cover one that had action, adventure, and a Jack Black-sized dollop of humour.

Talkie Tuesday: Skyscraper

"If you can't fix it with duct tape ... you ain't using enough duct tape."

Hello everyone!

So by now you've probably noticed I have a thing for Dwayne Johson's movies.

Or at least his recent ones, though I have to admit that the Scorpion King was also an entertaining thing to watch, way back when.

More to the point, however, the Rock just brings something to his movies that I don't often see with other actors, and that's saying something.

So a week or so ago, I managed to start tonight's blog topic.

And by start I mean I watched about half an hour (maybe twenty minutes) before my sister decided I needed to focus my attention on her. I can watch the movie later, right?

Right!

So then this weekend I FINALLY managed to sit down and finish this thing.

It's called Skyscraper, and no, Demi Lovato doesn't have a cameo in it.

Talkie Tuesday: Rampage

"Holy shit!"

Hello everyone!

Guess who's back, back again.

Anddd I think I'll leave the singing with that haha. But yes, I'm back! I acually got back last week but figured I could probably take a few more days just to get everything sorted, and by now I feel like I'm not treading water anymore but actually bought some water skis so I can cruise across it.

You know what I mean!

I've also managed to watch a few movies while I was away (this after finishing Lucifer season two with my mother who is now OBSESSED with the fallen angel; thank you, Tom Ellis). This one, however, actually went through my viewing during my Dwayne Johson-watch list before I left, but I figured I could save it up for post-vacation.

I still need to see his Skyscraper, and I'm looking forward to it. I feel like the Rock's career has literally skyrocketed in the 2000s.

So for tonight, let's talk about something big. Let's talk Rampage.

Talkie Tuesday: Jumanji Welcome to the Jungle

"Get me the HELL out of here!"

Hello everyone!

Time to talk about movies again.

I need to figure out a better way to introduce these blogs, but that being said, however, the point is that this is where I chatter on and on about the movie I'm going to be writing about subsequently in the post.

Now as you know, my list to catch up is still pretty much a mile long, however, I'm finally starting to make some sort of a dent in it!

And still I manage to go back and rewatch the Hobbit franchise for some reason or other ...

Ahem.

I was on a Dwayne Johnson binge it looks like, and I'm continuing it with another one of his movies soon enough, but for the time being let's start talking about this hilarious flick.

Talkie Tuesday: Baywatch

"And not a single fuck was given."

Hello everyone!

So the weather here is really not that summery at all, considering all we see are clouds and the occasional sunny day, but that hasn't ever deterred me from watching sun-filled movies while I was at it.

Which reminds me that I could probably rewatch Walking on Sunshine ... or maybe not. I have a backlog of movies as long as my arm.

In any event, for tonight's blog extravaganza I decided to go with something that I had always WANTED to watch, but never got around to doing while it was playing in cinemas, which is an absolute shame since I bet it would have looked even better on the big screen.

I mean, between the Rock's awesome muscles and Zac Efron's blue eyes, you know you have a winning combination.

I'm talking, of course, about Baywatch.

Talkie Tuesday: The Fate of the Furious

"Dominic Toretto has gone rogue."

Hello everyone!

Did I foreshadow my own Tuesday blog post back on Saturday? And did I, maybe, almost definitely, foreshadow it on Friday night when I posted on Instagram

Why yes, yes I did.

See, here's the thing: I love the Fast and Furious franchise

Sure, a lot of people complain that it's gone on FOREVER and it should end already. But then, a lot of people say the same thing about Supernatural, and look where that's got them. In plain facts: there are movies which will always make money, and this series with Vin Diesel at the helm is one of those.

Besides, it's already been announced that this current trilogy, eight, nine and ten, will be the last, bringing the whole number to ten movies which, collectively, have brought more money into the treasuries than a couple of other franchises combined.

So when one of my best friends suggested we go see The Fate of the Furious on Friday, just a day after the premiere, I was on board that train faster than you could say 'Ride or die'!

Saturday Talkie Tuesday: Moana

"I am Moana."

Hello everyone!

So, alright, I have to admit that, usually, I don't let anything or anyone deter me from making a blog post, but this past Tuesday I was SO exhausted like someone had taken my body and used it for a punching bag, for some reason or another.

Not to mention, my eyes also decided to take a sudden, unexpected break, and wouldn't even allow me to look into the screen for too long before they watered way too much.

So, unfortunately, I had to postpone my Tuesday blog post and switch it up with the Saturday snippet bit, because there was no way, at the time, for me to get even close to focusing properly on typing anything up that would make sense, one way or the other.

Which is why I'm typing this right meow.

See what I did there.

Anyway, before I digress any further, allow me to say that Disney has absolutely found its groove again with its newest cartoons, and Moana is no different!

Talkie Tuesday: San Andreas

"Now we rebuild."

Hello everyone!

Back with a movie review, and I just realized I absolutely have to get back on track with watching movies, as I seem to be running low on them. Not like there's never enough, obviously, but it looks as though, like I said way back when, I've had enough to last me until Christmas ... now it's time to start hoarding them again!

The movie I'm talking about tonight is certainly one that I'm probably going to buy on DVD once I get around to going to the shop itself, because really, it's one of those that are sort of believable, which makes them scary, but then they go and be unbelievable, which makes them hilarious.

It's also one of those love them or hate them movies, and no in between, which is sad because if you judge it only by IMDB ratings, you might miss out on one you would actually enjoy otherwise.

Take it from me. I would have bypassed some movies completely if I'd only been looking at the IMDB ratings (like Age of Ultron, for one), and yet the movies were actually enjoyable as far as I was concerned and I liked them.

San Andreas is one of those.

Talkie Tuesday: Furious 7

Hello everyone!

This week, it's back to the movies, and what movie has EVERYBODY talking right now? No, it's not Fifty Shades of Grey anymore, and it's not a Nicholas Sparks adaptation or a swansong to a Tolkien-inspired era.

This week, it's ALL about bald (or nearly bald) muscled people, blue-eyed actors who can make you sob, scantily-clad women, Abu Dhabi ... and fast cars.

Yes, I'm absolutely, definitely talking about 'Furious 7'.

The seventh installment in the Fast and Furious franchise roared into cinemas worldwide on April 3rd, whereas we here in Slovenia were actually (surprisingly) able to see it a day early, on the second of that month. I didn't get to see the premiere, but my girls and I hopped along for the ride this past Saturday with probably everyone within reasonable (and maybe slightly less reasonable) driving distance from the cinema, considering every showing seemed to be sold out!

And yes, four girls can and WILL have a good time watching a movie about cars!

Talkie Tuesday: Hercules

Hello everyone!

So last year (yes, for real), I noticed that there were two Hercules movies coming out within the span of a couple of months: The Legend of Hercules (starring Kellan Lutz) and Hercules (starring Dwayne Johnson). The Legend was the first one I sat down to watch, but then I had to wait a bit before I could get to Hercules, since I went to the seaside for a month during the summer period, and then sort of forgot about it. Oops. Anyway, I finally got around to watching the second one too! So this review will sort of be a comparison of the two movies, and also a general recap of them both. As you can probably tell, both of them obviously deal with the Greek hero who was rumoured to be the son of Zeus, named to please the goddess Hera, but she was generally pissed off that her hubby dear had another bastard brat on Earth, and decided she wanted to do away with him. How's that for family love? And we thought the Mikaelsons had it rough ...
