Tome Thursday: December Heart

Hello everyone!

Don't let the blog title fool you, this book does NOT in fact take place in December. Actually, I'm pretty sure it's set at about this time, or maybe spring-ish going into summer? It's not that big of a detail but it's still warm where the characters are and they can run around and ride without having to deal with heavy winter clothing, SO.

The title's about something else.

I have this lovely subscription with Bookbub where they send me an email every night with links to books that are either extremely cheap or free, so when I stumble on a good one I usually snap it up.

It's a really good thing to rely on if you read as much as I do!

I was browsing the selection in my email a week or so ago and stumbled across this one book that piqued my interest because, if done right, a May-December romance is definitely something to read about.

This one could be called a slight exception to the rule, but I did like the author's writing style, so let's dive right into December Heart, shall we?

Talkie Tuesday: Mamma Mia!

"I won't be muscled out by an ejaculation!"

Hello everyone!

So as you might have been able to tell from my several consecutive posts in previous weeks, my friends and I went to see Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again last Thursday!

And URGH some movies, man.

Some movies just deserve to be viewed over and over and OVER again.

This is one of them.

But then of course, I'm slightly OCD on this end and I can't just review the second movie without going into the bones of the first one.

Because every great story has a beginning, especially if it's a great sequel we're talking about.

This particular beginning happened ten years ago, under the very appropriate title of Mamma Mia!

Tome Thursday: Wild Heart

Hello everyone!

It's time for yet another book review and, yes, you guessed it, I turned to my usual go-to for whenever I feel as though I need a good, solid romance story with a happily ever after that doesn't come at the price of me tearing my hair out at either the hero or heroine being completely ridiculous by not just TALKING things through.

I mean, what's the price of talk nowadays? Millions of dollars?

You'd think so by how certain authors will add unnecessary complications into a fictional relationship simply for the sake of a complication itself.

Anyway.

Serenity Woods does NOT do that, I'm happy to report, although I do have to admit I ran into one of her books that didn't quite mesh up with what I'd been expecting ... but it's not tonight's subject, I promise.

No, no, tonight's subject is one of those I actually devoured fairly easily.

It's titled Wild Heart.

Talkie Tuesday: Sweet Home Carolina

"Sometimes you have to go back to go forward."

Hello everyone!

I am now going into my established period of Hallmark Channel movies, wherein I will sit down and watch nothing but those productions for a few nights in a row.

Why, you ask?

I have no idea.

Sometimes it just so happens that I feel like going through the corny romance, and occasionally I'll even find movies that I actually honestly like, movies I will return to and rewatch time and time again, or at least on occasion more than the one-timers.

And then of course, sometimes I will find movies that sound really great on paper but end up being not so great in the execution.

Sadly, this is what happened with the subject of tonight's blog.

Sweet Home Carolina just wasn't all that.

Tome Thursday: Bellamy and the Brute

Hello everyone!

My first book blog after coming back from vacation, isn't it exciting?

Haha not really, but you know what I mean!

I read quite a few books while I was away and I also started one of Julia Quinn's series a week or so back which I might actually feature here on the blog in its entirety, because I'm getting such a good laugh out of it.

How many Regency novels do you know where you can honestly say the mother is the funniest character you've ever met?

I thought so.

But for today's blog post I'm going for something a little bit easier and one of the books I read prior to my vacation.

As you'll be able to tell, it's a retelling. And it's title is Bellamy and the Brute.

Talkie Tuesday: Rampage

"Holy shit!"

Hello everyone!

Guess who's back, back again.

Anddd I think I'll leave the singing with that haha. But yes, I'm back! I acually got back last week but figured I could probably take a few more days just to get everything sorted, and by now I feel like I'm not treading water anymore but actually bought some water skis so I can cruise across it.

You know what I mean!

I've also managed to watch a few movies while I was away (this after finishing Lucifer season two with my mother who is now OBSESSED with the fallen angel; thank you, Tom Ellis). This one, however, actually went through my viewing during my Dwayne Johson-watch list before I left, but I figured I could save it up for post-vacation.

I still need to see his Skyscraper, and I'm looking forward to it. I feel like the Rock's career has literally skyrocketed in the 2000s.

So for tonight, let's talk about something big. Let's talk Rampage.
