Hello everyone!

 

Yes, I'm still in my Bollywood era.

 

No, I don't particularly care if this bothers anyone.

 

I'm finding it hard to get back into any other movie because these ones are just so entertaining for the most part, and also visually stunning! To say nothing of the acting chops on these stars, DUH.

 

So I'm slowly working my way through the list I've accumulated on Netflix so that I can confidently say I've seen everything that needs seeing.

 

Which does of course mean I VERY often run into none others than Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, who seem to have been everywhere in an era of Hindi cinema that people look back on with fondness and nostalgia.

 

I mean, they even got a statue in the UK not too long ago! Talk about history.

 

Without further ado, let's hop right into tonight's installment, then, titled Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

 

Talkie Tuesday: Ek Tha Tiger

Hello everyone!

 

Have you missed my forays into Bollywood?

 

Well, say no more!

 

Tonight, we're going back to where it ALL started.

 

Okay, maybe not everything, but we're definitely going back to where the YRF spyverse actually began, although doing some digging it turns out that the first three movies were actually considered standalones until Pathaan came along and tied them all together.

 

I guess you just need SRK to make it a family party, right?

 

Anyway, the movie we'll be talking about tonight is a respectable age old at this point in time, going toward the 15 year marker, so it's been a bit, and honestly it occasionally shows its age in that there are plenty of the 2010s tropes in there you can recognize.

 

But it's also a neat action movie, so let's jump into Ek Tha Tiger!

 

Talkie Tuesday: Jodhaa Akbar

Hello everyone!

 

I know, I know, you're probably getting sick of me by now with these.

 

I wish I'd be capable of apologizing but, I'm honestly REALLY enjoying my foray into Indian cinema, so why would I stop?

 

Although I'll admit it takes some serious stamina. This thing I'm reviewing tonight is over three and a half hours long! That's like ... a lot, compared to most movies nowadays haha.

 

But that said, I actually didn't have that much trouble sitting and watching it through in one go, because apparently, my attention span can and will adapt to what it needs, once I'm interested enough for that to happen that is.

 

So let's not waste too many introductory words, then. We have a lot of ground to cover.

 

Instead, let's travel back in time to roughly 16th century India, in a time when religious upheaval seemed to be rather prevalent. Let's go back and see Jodhaa Akbar.

 

Talkie Tuesday: Romance with a Twist

Welcome back to another movie review, and yet again we've chosen one of Hallmark's.

 

Why?

 

Well, because every once in a while, for the most part, I kind of wander back to my old ways (the days when I would watch copious amounts of Hallmark Channel movies aren't that far behind me yet!) and want to see whether or not there've been any changes.

 

There haven't, not that many in any event, but at the very least things are pretty amusing for the most part.

 

That was what happened this past Sunday as I was picking a movie to watch for Tuesday's blog. And the only real reason I chose it was because I'm intrigued by the whole, dancing around on silks thing, as well as Jocelyn Hudon, who I feel is a magnificent find to stardom.

 

I just can't wait to see her in more cinematic pieces!

 

Until then, without further ado, let's have a look at Romance with a Twist.

Hello everyone!

 

And welcome to a little something that I was actually kind of looking forward to, not that I advertised it much.

 

See, Hallmark has been a staple for me ever since I started this blog, way back when.

 

And earlier, too.

 

I can vividly remember some of the earliest movies that launched once this service came into being (still looking for one in particular that I can't seem to find no matter what, but I'll get there!), and since then, it's become a bit of a powerhouse in churning out flicks to watch.

 

This year, they decided to treat February as their own Jane Austen month, and wouldn't you know it, but I LOVE Austen, too. So a match made in heaven, then!

 

I might watch some of their other things as well, but to begin with, we'll be looking at something rather fun: Paging Mr. Darcy.

 

Talkie Tuesday: A Man for Every Month

Hello everyone!

Yes, I'm still on the Hallmark movie binge. I promise I'm getting to some of the other things I have waiting to be watched and observed, but for the time being, Hallmark's rolling motion of movie premieres has been slowed a bit because of the situation at hand, so it's slightly easier to keep track of them and to watch them as they're released.

That, and I honestly just want to give my brain a rest every once in a while.

Especially with all the spectacular happenings on the shows still running at the moment!

We're headed into an actual drought soon when the summer shows end and the autumn ones won't even begin yet since who knows how they're going to shoot now, which means I'll have plenty of time to play catch-up.

But before I can play catch-up, I have to play 'find the movie'.

A Man for Every Month, to be precise.

Talkie Tuesday: A Summer to Remember

"A new lease on life."

Hello everyone!

Well, that's it. Summer as officially said goodbye, because on the TV this morning, we could already see that some higher-lying cities in Austria have been graced with snow. 

Some cameras were completely snowed-in!

As far as that goes, I'm quite happy to live in a place where we can have a bit more of autumn before we transition to winter again, but that being said, I thought I'd celebrate with a really summer-y movie review just because.

It's one of those things I plucked off a list of Hallmark movies and ended up enjoying, despite the fact that I don't really see myself watching it again this season. Maybe next year, but by then I'm sure there'll be a long list of other summer movies to watch!

The movie I'm talking about is aptly named A Summer to Remember and stars Catherine Bell and Cameron Mathison.

Hello everyone!

I am now going into my established period of Hallmark Channel movies, wherein I will sit down and watch nothing but those productions for a few nights in a row.

Why, you ask?

I have no idea.

Sometimes it just so happens that I feel like going through the corny romance, and occasionally I'll even find movies that I actually honestly like, movies I will return to and rewatch time and time again, or at least on occasion more than the one-timers.

And then of course, sometimes I will find movies that sound really great on paper but end up being not so great in the execution.

Sadly, this is what happened with the subject of tonight's blog.

Sweet Home Carolina just wasn't all that.

Talkie Tuesday: Signed, Sealed, Delivered To The Altar

"Maybe it's time to come home."

Hello everyone!

As a departure from my usual movie reviews I'm doing something a little bit different tonight. That's mainly because I was literally bouncing up and down in my seat yesterday while watching the subject of tonight's blog post, and yes, I do recognize that I'm weird. 

Oops.

But I accidentally stumbled on this series when the DIVA channel started airing it here and the premise sounded extremely promising to me. Then I got hooked about five minutes into the pilot episode, probably because of the actors, and then of course the plot.

See, I have this motto for myself: if it makes me yawn half an hour in, I stop watching.

It never happened with these movies, however, and I think Hallmark may be on to something with this series.

I'm talking, of course, about Signed, Sealed, Delivered, and it's latest installment, To The Altar.
