Tome Thursday: Midnight Secret

Hello everyone!

Serenity Woods returns to the blog tonight in this book of choice, not that it's any surprise.

At this point, I'm only missing a handful of her works to both read and review on here, and I'm doing pretty well, I'd like to think!

Especially as she keeps on writing these amazing stories.

Tonight's is a little different in that it's an age gap romance, which I don't remember her taking a shot at before (I could be wrong, please correct me if I am!).

And also, there's a lot of modern day problematic included in this as well.

This isn't to discourage you, only to ensure you pay attention as you read and so you don't get fooled into thinking this is one thing, then emerge to find it's something else entirely.

I love the author. I want people to buy her books. And I want her readers to know what they're getting themselves into!

So without further ado, let's dive right into Midnight Secret.

Tome Thursday: Tempt

Hello everyone!

I have a rather delectable book for you tonight.

LOL that came off way worse than I thought it would, but anyway. Let's move on with the show.

So my main focus, when reading and choosing books to review for this blog, is usually fantasy-related or maybe it's going to be sci-fi or something.

Every once in a while, however, I end up on the other side of the fence.

I like to call it my personal Dark Side, because I'm dramatic like that.

And this particular dark side is relatively harmless - it just has a lot of very thirsty books that don't engage the brain all that much and mostly just give you a rush of endorphins so you can then go about your day happier haha.

Tonight's choice is exactly one of those. I stumbled over it randomly enough - I think one of my Goodreads friends read it and it popped on my feed.

So I figured, why the heck not, right? Let's take a look at a book very aptly named Tempt.

Tome Thursday: In Step

Hello everyone!

I have a really, REALLY good book for you this week, and I'm not just saying it.

A while ago I ran into a blurb telling me about a book that was GOING to be released sometime in early 2022, and I added it to my 'to be read' list on Goodreads.

Turns out, I'd been right to do so.

I've had a soft spot for same-sex romance books since I discovered that they even exist, because a lot of the time, the tropes that have become so incredibly boring and over-written in heterosexual romances take on a new life when it's two men or two women.

I don't know what it is!

This one tonight isn't exactly outdated, it's just a really clever one, but it's DEFINITELY worth the time and the read. I think I managed in about three sittings, and each sitting I found something to bawl my eyes out over.

No joke.

So without further ado: In Step. Because everybody needs a little dance in their life.

Tome Thursday: Catching Hell

Hello everyone!

This. This is what happens when I run out of time.

I resort to reading novellas because my full-length books are sitting there and staring at me accusingly because I have all of them sort-of-read, but not really.

Honest to goodness, I have novels in the works, people.

I swear!

But ... life happens. And it doesn't usually ask if I'd like it to play nice or anything.

Not that it was anything alarming, just things piling up on things and in the end I had to sacrifice something to keep a sane head on my shoulders, which basically means that this week's book blog post has gotten the short stick.

And I apologise.

However, it's not THAT bad. The book was actually entertaining enough to read!

I just never thought I'd find myself reading anything like Catching Hell.

Tome Thursday: December Heart

Hello everyone!

Don't let the blog title fool you, this book does NOT in fact take place in December. Actually, I'm pretty sure it's set at about this time, or maybe spring-ish going into summer? It's not that big of a detail but it's still warm where the characters are and they can run around and ride without having to deal with heavy winter clothing, SO.

The title's about something else.

I have this lovely subscription with Bookbub where they send me an email every night with links to books that are either extremely cheap or free, so when I stumble on a good one I usually snap it up.

It's a really good thing to rely on if you read as much as I do!

I was browsing the selection in my email a week or so ago and stumbled across this one book that piqued my interest because, if done right, a May-December romance is definitely something to read about.

This one could be called a slight exception to the rule, but I did like the author's writing style, so let's dive right into December Heart, shall we?
