Talkie Tuesday: Major League

"Well then I guess there's only one thing left to do: win this whole f-ing thing.

Hello everyone!

And welcome to the randomest choice of movie for the review ever.

See, this is what happens when my family decides we're going to have a movie night, and ends up watching something as old as I am.

Oh yeah, this movie came out in 1989.

And by the way, they still made movies you could actually call movies back in those days. What I mean by that is that they FEEL realistic with the vocabulary people use, the actions taken, and the fact they're legitimately focusing on the plot rather than any political machination in the background.

I'm sure there were agendas even back then, but there's certainly none of that WOKE stuff.

I'm telling you, that's the worst that could ever happen honestly.

So forget about it for a second and grab your baseball caps, because we're headed back to Major League and trying to figure out how the circus won the cup.

Talkie Tuesday: Taking the Reins

"Sometimes you have to step away from something to realize how much you love it."

Hello everyone!

Okay, OKAY.

I did sort of imply I would be watching the new Cinderella movie, but then I got side-tracked by a commercial for the new Hallmark Channel Fall Harvest release, and of course I ended up watching that instead.

Sorry Cindy, I'll be seeing you soon, I promise.

Maybe.

But I'll admit Hallmark is my guilty pleasure, though I also make sure I don't start watching their Christmas programming until way after November 15th, considering starting mid-October, while it might make sense for them as this is their biggest flagship, makes zero sense for me. I need it to at least SMELL like Christmas before I watch those movies!

Anyway, I digress.

Tonight's blog post is all about horses and finicky women, in Taking the Reins.

Tome Thursday: Reaching First

Hello everyone!

I have to admit that I changed my mind about the book I'll be reviewing tonight, seeing as I'm slowly working through the pile of left-overs I have which I started once upon a time, and then never actually finished.

The reasons for that vary, sometimes I simply needed a break from the book, sometimes it all turned south so I just needed to step away and figure out if I even wanted to continue, and sometimes I sort of just let it slide by the wayside ... until I decided it was time to stop that slide while I was at it.

Obviously I remember promising there would be the Sword of Destiny, but I'll get to that. It's one of those books I actually finished in one go.

Tonight, I'm tackling a story that sat there for almost a year since the last time I picked up the compilation of books, and that's saying something.

Then again I've realized that I have a few which I've just sort of left behind, and I don't feel right when that happens.

So for this week, we're returning to the pitch for a little bit, with Reaching First.

Tome Thursday: Perfect Pitch

Hello everyone!

So I reviewed Catching Hell a little while ago and it was the second in the series, so I decided, you know what, I need to have number one on here as well, just to make sure my inner OCD stays nice and happy.

Mindy Klasky isn't an author I'd read prior to picking up a trio of her short books, but I feel like I could get into her stories.

Every once in a while, I need a little fluff in my life.

And by that I mostly mean stories that have a happy ending, that don't complicate life too much, and that might even have sexy heroes inside!

This one was one of those, although to be fair it was kind of funny as well on top of everything else. But it did have baseball, it had some really funny one-liners, and I have to admit that I wanted to hug the guy. Honestly.

So Perfect Pitch - here we come!

Tome Thursday: Catching Hell

Hello everyone!

This. This is what happens when I run out of time.

I resort to reading novellas because my full-length books are sitting there and staring at me accusingly because I have all of them sort-of-read, but not really.

Honest to goodness, I have novels in the works, people.

I swear!

But ... life happens. And it doesn't usually ask if I'd like it to play nice or anything.

Not that it was anything alarming, just things piling up on things and in the end I had to sacrifice something to keep a sane head on my shoulders, which basically means that this week's book blog post has gotten the short stick.

And I apologise.

However, it's not THAT bad. The book was actually entertaining enough to read!

I just never thought I'd find myself reading anything like Catching Hell.
