Talkie Tuesday: Jungle Cruise

"One person is world enough."

Hello everyone!

If you're lucky enough to live in the US, you've probably been to Disney at some point in time, and in that point in time you've also, most probably, taken their Jungle cruise ride in the theme parks.

I've had no such luck in my life BUT when I heard there was going to be a movie based off it, well, I was hooked.

Then I kind of forgot about it until I accidentally spotted something on Instagram and recalled that, yes, I kind of STILL want to watch it!

And so this past Sunday I went and sat down, and ended up laughing for about an hour and a half. My stomach muscles still hurt two days later, not to mention my face since I've also been watching all sorts of interviews with the cast online.

There's just so much sheer joy that went into making this movie, I can't even begin to describe it.

So hold on to your pants, it's time we took a little joyride down the Amazon river, and in case you haven't figured it out yet ... it's gonna be a bumpy ride! Jungle Cruise, here we go.

Talkie Tuesday: Edge of Tomorrow

"We should just reset."

Hello everyone!

So tonight's blog post is probably not going to be one of those sterling, praise-waxing I usually post. Then again, I usually kind of like the movies I watch, but every once in a while I run into one that I could have done without.

I'm not saying that's a bad thing. Obviously, tastes differ and some things just aren't for everyone, especially not with as many people as the world has on the surface.

But this surprised me because before I watched the movie the initial reviews and response was positive, largely so, although I will admit I haven't gone back to check whether or not it changed at all after I returned from my summer vacation (yes, this is still one of those from way back when, and hey look, it's almost Christmas too!)

Maybe I should have known it for what it was, but a good friend of mine raved about it and so I kept my hopes up. But Edge of Tomorrow absolutely failed to deliver in my opinion.

Talkie Tuesday: Into The Woods

"Careful the tale you tell - for that is the spell!"

Hello everyone!

Back to blogging about movies, I had this urge to watch something else out of the fantasy world after finishing Cinderella (the recap and review of which you may read here, from last week), and I had a couple of movies to choose from, but eventually I settled on one that was probably the very best approximation to just what the first one was about, meaning I ended up watching Into The Woods

First off, I didn't realize there would be a movie like that until a very good friend of mine showed me the trailer, saying it sounded like something I would enjoy. I watched said trailer (there will be a link down below) and had to agree with her - if nothing else than for one, unmistakable reason:

A SINGING Meryl Streep, might I add.

Now, if you're like me, and you've seen Mamma Mia!, then you'll know she basically aces when it comes to belting out any kind of songs whatsoever. So learning about another movie in which she does the same thing was a no brainer for the end result: watching it!
