Talkie Tuesday: Brahmastra Shiva

"When life gets a bit dark ... find the light."

Hello everyone!

Welcome to this week's movie of choice, and let me tell you, I had a handful to pick from.

I've somehow managed to accumulate a backlog of what I've watched, but haven't reviewed yet, and what I haven't watched but plan to review in future.

Listen, I have issues, okay? Moving on.

Tonight's choice comes from my spontaneous decision to watch a movie this Sunday afternoon, despite the fact I was busy reading book ARCs and trying to hustle getting THOSE reviews out of the way, as well.

I'm a busy bee, what can I say.

In any event, I picked this movie because I saw the trailer on accident - it looked like something I'd watch if it were of Hollywood make, and I was right - and ended up really enjoying it! It's a bit cliché, of course, but then superhero movies usually are.

So warm up those chakras, we're headed into the Astraverse with Shiva.

Talkie Tuesday: Mythica, A Quest for Heroes

"We'll create our own destinies."

Hello everyone!

Welcome to what's actually the first entry in a series of review posts I'm going to be doing, although I'm not sure if I'll be doing them one after another chronologically, or if it's going to be a series with some pauses in between.

BUT.

I found out a little while back that there's a BUNCH of direct-to-video films which feature a rather favoured actor of mine, Jake Stormoen (he of The Outpost fame, that is).

So I decided to sit down and watch them.

And I have to say, for relatively low-budget productions? This project looks rather COOL, all things considered!

Which means fasten your seatbelts, everybody: and let's check out Mythica, Quest for Heroes.

Talkie Tuesday: Into The Woods

"Careful the tale you tell - for that is the spell!"

Hello everyone!

Back to blogging about movies, I had this urge to watch something else out of the fantasy world after finishing Cinderella (the recap and review of which you may read here, from last week), and I had a couple of movies to choose from, but eventually I settled on one that was probably the very best approximation to just what the first one was about, meaning I ended up watching Into The Woods

First off, I didn't realize there would be a movie like that until a very good friend of mine showed me the trailer, saying it sounded like something I would enjoy. I watched said trailer (there will be a link down below) and had to agree with her - if nothing else than for one, unmistakable reason:

A SINGING Meryl Streep, might I add.

Now, if you're like me, and you've seen Mamma Mia!, then you'll know she basically aces when it comes to belting out any kind of songs whatsoever. So learning about another movie in which she does the same thing was a no brainer for the end result: watching it!
