Talkie Tuesday: Downton Abbey (season 1)

"I am a caretaker, not an owner."

Hello everyone!

Alright, so. Once again, this Tuesday blog is going to be a bit different, as it will not, in fact, be about a movie of any kind. And there really is a perfectly simple explanation for that.

That is, more or less.

See for a time now, one of my best friends has been badgering me (gently, of course) to start watching Downton Abbey. The thing was, with all the regular shows in season, and everything else I generally watch in between, I just never found the time. More accurately, I never made it, really.

Then a few weeks back, I finally decided to bite the bullet, for one thing because I hate not being able to deliver, and for another because I had been told, in no uncertain terms, that Dan Stevens is pretty wonderful in this show.

Dan Stevens? THE Dan Stevens, aka the Beast?

Scuse me while I find the popcorn and get my groove on.

Ahem. So, finally capitulating, I managed to run through the first season of the show since then, and boy, am I thankful for the constant persuasion!

Saturday Snippet

Hello everyone!

OKAY, I think I'm finally back for good. Like, with no other upcoming migrations southwise for this year, considering I think I spent more than a month in total by the seaside.

Which, in itself, is pretty awesome, but it does hamper on one's ability to be online!

I mean, okay, theoretically I COULD have been, but I think my phone bill would have been astronomical.

So yeah.

September being well and truly here (there was SO MUCH fog outside this morning, you wouldn't believe it), it's soon going to be show time!

I might have a slight problem with the amount of shows I watch. Can you say oops? I had to colour-coordinate so I don't mistake one for another! Also, it's much easier this way because I don't have to overthink, I just look at the schedule haha. I still need to finish Teen Wolf season 5 though ... working on it!

Are you guys excited for any shows?

xx

Talkie Tuesday: Game of Thrones

Hello everyone!
So it's been ages, or so I feel, since I've last seen an actual movie and talked about it in Tuesday's segment, but I can't help it! There's just SO MUCH going on with TV shows I'm catching up to, it's ridiculous. I mean, I'm still working my way through the Tudors, then there were some others I haven't been able to see yet, and certain ones have just started their summer run (I'm looking at you, Teen Wolf).

How am I supposed to watch movies then?!

I don't, I suppose. And I would like to point out at this particular line of the blog that anyone who hasn't yet seen the last season of Game of Thrones should probably stop reading right about now. And I mean it, because there are going to be spoilers, and I don't want you all to come barging and being all WE HAVEN'T WATCHED IT YET.

Go watch it, then come back, and we can discuss!

Tome Thursday: The Ruby Circle

Hello everyone!

Back in February, I wrote a quick little review about The Silver Shadows, the fifth book in Richelle Mead's Bloodlines series, and obviously I was late in doing so because it took a while for the physical book to arrive (I did have the electronic version, but truth be told I enjoy reading these ones in their original forms). Which meant I was pretty much just weeks away from the publishing date of The Ruby Circle, the sixth and final installment in the series, as well as the much-anticipated grand finale of the whole saga begun with the Vampire Academy years back.

Cue my excitement!

I can't even remember how or why I got into these books in the first place, I know for Twilight that I honestly wanted to know what the hype was about, and A Song o Ice and Fire was introduced to me on a weekend trip, but these books? No idea. I started reading Bloodlines because I loved the Vampire Academy series, and so it was sort of bitter-sweet for me to pick up the very last book (or it's last according to the author).
