"The biggest fashion show on Earth."
Hello everyone!
I'm sure you might have seen this coming, if you know me at all.
I usually end up watching this show even if I initially say I won't - which I think I said after the 2024 one that left me distinctly unimpressed.
And yet, here we are. LOL.
But I figured, seeing as this year's show is literally just around the corner - it airs this coming Sunday, October 18 - I might as well have a brief look back on the show I already watched, but never reviewed.
Yes, unfortunately, this one also didn't hit the mark whatsoever,
Without further ado: Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2025.
Links to previous related posts can be found at the bottom of the page, as per usual. I'm planning on maybe reviewing more of these, the old ones that were GOOD, if I can and if I remember.
I swear my brain is like Swiss cheese LOL.
But anyway.
The show remained in NYC like its predecessor from 2024, and yet again the main point of it seemed to be trying to pretend it was some sort of haute couture.
My people, these women are walking around with their bits BARELY covered, this is not the high fashion you think it is, and the show itself should reflect that much.
Used to be, you knew the fashion show that drew the biggest crowds outside of Fashion Week was one where the party started, and it was one HELL of a party.
This year, even the performers were ehhh. The only one I feel like had the proper vocals that REALLY sounded was Karol G, but she has a divine voice. For a stage that was set the way this was set, in this particular location? YOU NEED STRONG VOCALS, not some breathy, barely-there whispering, it sets the completely wrong atmosphere.
Plus the show also used to rely heavily on its Angels subbrand, which made the entire thing more exciting as you watched your favourites strut their stuff.
Now, I'm not saying new girls shouldn't be up there, because of course not, but the newbies LEARN from the pros, and women like Adriana Lima are exactly that.
Sadly, not even she could save last year's show, because apparently she left her charisma and bedroom eyes at home and decided she was walking in Milan and shouldn't have a facial expression at all.
I also don't know what to think of the opening act, which was the heavily pregnant Jasmine Tookes. And before anyone comes for me: THIS IS NOT AGAINST HER PREGNANCY. My goodness. I'm thrilled she has two healthy children!! Like, be so for real right now.
But IDK if the right place to show off her VERY pregnant belly was the runway that looked like polished glass, even with a medical team on standby. Also, pregnant ladies and thongs just shouldn't mix for public consumption, call it the prude in me.
Anyway, it was an okay show, but largely forgettable, and I can't say the same for the older ones that I STILL recall quite vividly.
Let's see what 2026 brings us, then.
xx
