Talkie Tuesday: Mardaani

"This is India!"

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to another one of those moments where you probably look at the blog and go 'oh heck, she's doing it again'.

Because yes, yes I am!

I can never stay away from Bollywood for long.

I mean, I'm still not quite over the last movie I watched, but that's beside the point, as right now, tonight, I'm picking one of the newer ones.

And one of the ones with a female lead I absolutely ADORE.

Rani Mukerji is just -chef's kiss- I have to watch more of her work. She's amazing.

So without further ado, let's hop right into the drama of tonight's movie of choice.

Because that's what we're getting with Mardaani.

Tome Thursday: Ghost Overboard

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to the blog.

For tonight's book of choice, we're picking a series that's been ongoing for a bit, but always seems to keep fresh no matter which one you choose to read!

I've been a fan of Dina Marie's work since I accidentally stumbled upon Going Ghost, and I've loved the rest of the books ever since.

I'm sure plenty of people out there will argue with me and say these books are short, bring nothing to the table, and are much too simple to be considered proper sleuthing ones.

I disagree!

It doesn't always have to be a crime so deep you need to bring out Holmes or Poirot.

Sometimes, all you need is logical thinking, a little bit of luck, and a ghostly companion while you're at it.

So let's check that out in Ghost Overboard.

Talkie Tuesday: True Justice Family Ties

"Always follow the wife."

Hello everyone!

And welcome to what I'd probably call the Kat McNamara appreciation post, if it didn't already have a different title.

See, I've been a HUGE fan of hers since her Shadowhunters days, and once she joined Arrow as the one and only Mia Queen? Forget it, I was set for life to be one of her biggest fans.

She's just an amazingly versatile actress, and I'm reasonably sure she just hasn't found the role that would skyrocket her for life, which is a shame because I feel like she could do really, really well among the big Hollywood A-listers.

Then again, maybe she's perfectly happy where she's at right now though? Who can tell!

I know that I was pleasantly surprised seeing her name pop up in association with Hallmark Movies and Mysteries, so this weekend I sat down to watch the little movie she made with them.

Because, don't you know, I like murder mysteries, too. Which True Justice: Family Ties absolutely, definitely is.

Tome Thursday: The Apprentice

Hello everyone!

So for my last book review before my version of booktober begins, I picked an oldie-goldie because I've recently fallen back into the trap of re-reading these yet again.

I also promise there will be info about what's happening in October waiting soon enough, come Monday if all goes well.

For the time being it's still book review hour, which means time to make sure our guns are locked and loaded.

I haven't read any Tess Gerritsen book in a long time actually, and then I went and started reading the second one yet again, which meant I would eventually pick up the rest of the series one more time. When the days turn colder and the rain starts falling, I love picking up a good thriller and munching through it while safely cocooned in a warm blanket.

There's just something so cozy about the scene, isn't it?

Nothing remotely cozy about the book we're reviewing tonight, however.

The Apprentice makes all your worst nightmares come true.

Talkie Tuesday: TMNT Out of the Shadows

"Why aren't we going with the Turtles?
When something bad happens, you want to be with the Turtles!"

Hello everyone!

Right about now, the upper part of the house is in complete shambles because my parents are renovating the master bedroom. At this moment alone, about a third of it is currently sitting in MY room (including but not limited to a funny winter hat that's eyeing me while I sleep) and I thank every deity above that I have my desk in the opposite corner by the window, otherwise I would so not be able to get to it.

But enough about my habitat woes.

Tuesdays are my movie days, but truth be told I've been a little bit on the slide when it comes to movies, mostly because for some reason our TV network decided that it's going to stream a whole boat load of amazing ones from years past.

This means that, around Saturday-ish when I usually watch a movie to review in my Tuesday blog, I watch stuff like Kingdom of Heaven or Pirates of the Caribbean.

I mean, I'm not complaining! I just have a hard time deciding what, specifically, I'm going to type about, then.

Which is how I got distracted by the last Power Rangers trailer, and remembered my old, old friends: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Out of the Shadows!

Talkie Tuesday: The Final Problem

"The Game is afoot."

Hello everyone!

Well. We've made it.

And contrary to what I generally feel when a show season ends, I'm not entirely certain what to make of this particular one.

This weekend saw the end of season four in the lives of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, but fans all around the globe are pretty much crying out, either in confusion, shock, or just point-blank outrage.

As a wise individual once said: "I feel a disturbance in the Force."

Fortunately, we can always go back and watch the first two seasons (and three, three was okay-ish, as well) if we want to go back to Sherlock's glory days. Unfortunately, despite previous statements that Benedict Cumberbatch is contracted for a fifth season, this has now been pulled and in its place was said that, while a fifth season has been plotted, Gatis and Moffat aren't sure if they'll produce it.

On that note, let's dive into this Sherlock recap, shall we?

Tome Thursday: The Surgeon

Hello everyone!

I'm back with a book review, although granted I hadn't actually decided WHICH book I was going to talk about in this blog post tonight until the moment I sat down to type the Twitter announcement.

I'm like that sometimes. I read a lot, but I don't always write EVERYTHING down.

Which means that, sometimes, I can have a difficult moment or two cracking through the piles of information inside my brain and sifting through the lot so that I can find something that would be worth while. And I'm not evn sure I did find it, but oh well.

In any event, because I recently started rereading a few series I'd already finished back in the day, I figured I might as well talk about a book that was very close to mein terms of how well I remember what was going on inside it.

Since I never did make any notes about it, might as well get it out in the open as fast as humanly possible, right?

Right.

And, since I'd already written about one book by the same author, it makes sense. I'm talking about The Surgeon.
