Talkie Tuesday: A Feeling of Home

Hello everyone!

Looks like I'm on a complete Hallmark movie binge right now, and honestly, with the fact that the production company seems to finally be listening to its viewers and putting in more diversity AND slightly more dynamic plotlines, can you blame me?

It's something that I never would have seen happen, but then again when it comes to Hallmark I'm a sucker for their movies.

As stated already!

I still have to find one I can't even remember the title of, but until I do, the current movie spread sheet will have to be my guide.

Countdown to Summer is one of the newer Hallmark introductions, but it looks to be more than a little productive if you ask me. They usually punch out four to five movies in the lineup, and tonight's blog subject is absolutely one of them.

A Feeling of Home might sound completely simple, but it's much more than that.

Tome Thursday: Star Wars Hachette

Hello everyone!

This week's book blog post is a bit of a cheat, all things considered, but I didn't want to just not post anything since I will be out and about most of the day. I wanted to give you guys SOMETHING.

So I remembered that I'd read a very short book, more novella really, or a sort of children's version of a story, a couple of days back.

Once again I seem to be on a Star Wars binge as I've discovered The Clone Vars novelization, and I have to say it's the very first novelization so far that I want to have as a physical copy. Karen Traviss really seems to understand the characters well, she gives scenes time to breathe, and doesn't just tell the readers, she sort of shows them, too.

What I didn't know prior to reading Traviss' book (which I am right now) was that another one I had, in French, was basically the same thing - only condensed!

The Biblioteque Verte version has the Clone Wars animation cover, and even though it's French, I could absolutely see and feel all the puns thrown back and forth between the characters.

Back with a movie review and, you guessed it, it's another Hallmark channel one.

I know, I know.

I'm starting to get boring over here. I can't help it though!

Hallmark does punch out some really good movies that you and your whole family can enjoy, and recently I noticed that a couple of different channels here have been airing them.

I don't watch everything they serve me - for one, it'd be too many, and two, not every one of them is good, sadly! - but I DO watch a fair amount of them, and I recently ran into an old favourite which I'd watched, but never reviewed on here.

Well, I stand corrected!

Hello, It's Me isn't quite your typical Hallmark channel production.

Tome Thursday: Kenobi

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to a galaxy far, far away!

I'll admit that I sometimes need to take minor breaks in between reading genres, because on occasion they can become too much. This is what happened with my interest in the Star Wars books franchise, because I had pretty much gobbled down at least four or five books in a row, and then felt like I needed a bit of a breather.

So that was what I did.

And eventually picked up the one book I was probably, almost THE most excited about.

Okay it's a toss between this one and the one about Padmé. They're pretty much my favourite characters from the entire saga.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is a character that links both the Prequel and the Original trilogies, the bridge we need to understand just what happened and how things connect. Sure the villains are also there - but it's Kenobi that a lot of people connect with the most.

So the book titled directly after him is obviously a must-read.

Talkie Tuesday: Sailing into Love

Hello everyone!

I am back with a Hallmark movie binge.

Every once in a while, I think to myself that I should have one of these. Sadly, Hallmark doesn't always produce the perfect films, but then again they aren't the only ones at fault for that.

Mostly, however, you can count on at least being able to turn your mind off for an hour and a half to two hours and just think about what's happening on your screen rather than what's going on inside your head. And admittedly, it's almost always funny.

With the closing of the season for When Calls the Heart, I saw a comment somewhere about Chris McNally, the actor portraying one of the new men in town, and that he was quite the sweetheart in his other roles.

Of course, I had to investigate. 

I was pleasantly surprised.

I've so far seen him in two movies (and plan on seeing more) and apparently in Lucifer though I don't remember that! But without further ado, ahoy, mateys! Sailing into Love is sailing onto the blog.
