Tome Thursday: To Selena, With Love

 

Hello everyone!

 

As you can see, I'm wrapping this week up with another Selena appreciation blog post, this time with the book I picked up right after New Year's and probably devoured within a day or two.

 

Then again, I kind of wanted to read it before going into the television show, so I'd know some of what to expect!

 

And I have to tell you, it's good.

 

It's nothing complicated, it's nothing dramatic, and a lot of people might not find it interesting because it doesn't cover any massive, bombastic situations, but mostly Selena's normal, day-to-day life, specifically later after her marriage to her husband and how they went about their days.

 

I, personally, loved it.

 

And it's a different kind of pain to read about the husband's feelings after his wife is murdered. I think I bawled my eyes out over that chapter.

 

Anyway, this book needs no more introduction, so let's check out To Selena, With love, by her widower, Chris Perez.

Talkie Tuesday: Sailing into Love

"Dreams change. So do plans."

Hello everyone!

I am back with a Hallmark movie binge.

Every once in a while, I think to myself that I should have one of these. Sadly, Hallmark doesn't always produce the perfect films, but then again they aren't the only ones at fault for that.

Mostly, however, you can count on at least being able to turn your mind off for an hour and a half to two hours and just think about what's happening on your screen rather than what's going on inside your head. And admittedly, it's almost always funny.

With the closing of the season for When Calls the Heart, I saw a comment somewhere about Chris McNally, the actor portraying one of the new men in town, and that he was quite the sweetheart in his other roles.

Of course, I had to investigate. 

I was pleasantly surprised.

I've so far seen him in two movies (and plan on seeing more) and apparently in Lucifer though I don't remember that! But without further ado, ahoy, mateys! Sailing into Love is sailing onto the blog.

Hello everyone!

For this blog post I'm pulling out an oldie but a goldie, since it was probably one of my favourite summer movies that I ended up watching while away at the seaside. There's just something about a good, quality Hallmark channel movie that lifts the spirits. 

And also, it helps if the two leads are at least likeable!

With the Countdown to Christmas already in progress, I'm currently still forbidden from watching any Christmas movies, which should change after November 15th.

After all, nobody does ANYTHING Christmas-y at our house before my sister's birthday.

It's a given!

Although what she'll say when she sees the latest purchase our parents made and I left on her bed ...

Anyway, I'll stop babbling about unimportant things and move on to the actual blog post! Love at First Dance, here we go.
