Michael Crichton isn't USUALLY on my list of reads, although I will admit there are moments. This is one of them. I first saw the movie with Gerard Butler before discovering the book, but then fell in love with it (of course). Who doesn't want to time travel, especially these days? But going back has its own unforeseen dangers and consequences, as the team of intrepid archaeologists and explorers soon discovers. It's bad enough they fall right in the middle of an English - French pow-wow - but what will they do when it becomes clear they've been outplayed, and worse, tricked?

 

 

 

 

In an Arizona desert, a man wanders in a daze, speaking words that make no sense. Within twenty-four hours he is dead, his body swiftly cremated by his only known associates. Talkie Tuesday: Lara Croft Cradle of Life

Hello everyone!

I'm back with another movie review and yet again it's an oldie but a goldie. 

I mean what else can you call a movie with Angelina Jolie running around in skin-tight clothing?

I knew you'd agree with me.

Anyway, of course I couldn't just watch the first Lara Croft installment when I started this whole shebang, I had to go through all the movies that were ever done in her name, so that means that the old duology was going to come into play.

And since I've already done the first movie, it's time for the second one tonight.

Lara gears up again in Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life.

Talkie Tuesday: Geostorm

Hello everyone!

My movie section is once again looking up as I'm finally moving into slightly newer movies as opposed to flicks that are two or three years old (or more at that!). 

It also doesn't help that I keep getting distracted, like with Without a Trace or Unforgettable.

I know, I have issues.

But every once in a while I will also stumble upon newer, recent movies that I really feel like watching, and of course you'll be able to find a disaster one among them. Because let's face it, ain't nothing better for the crowd than going to see the world travelling to hell in a hand basket.

This was also very true about the movie chosen for tonight's blog.

I'm talking about Gerard Butler's survival flick, Geostorm.

Saturday Synopsis: 300

Hello everyone!

So as I wrote earlier this week somewhere, I decided to switch my blog posts around a little because I saw something on the television schedule that made me grin. 

Tuesday or Wednesday night, one of our channels aired 300, and I was stoked.

There is virtually nothing better to get you right out of the holiday cheer and back into the real world than some old-fashioned ass-kicking, which 300 delivers in spades and then some. Sure it's gory - but for all that it makes up with witty lines and ridiculous hilarity throughout.

Also, watching half-naked guys running around all muscled is a plus.

Since I'd already reviewed the sequel, I figured I might as well wait until this Saturday to post a review for the original movie from 2006 which pretty much made everything else Greek look fairly nansy in comparison.

I mean, come on - the Spartans literally lived for war, after all.

Talkie Tuesday: London Has Fallen

"Bullet-proof, not politician-proof!"

Hello everyone!

I'm finally fully back from vacation, this including not having a vacation mind anymore or being almost literally tied up with washing, drying, folding and cleaning in general. 

You know how things go when you've been away from home for a while.

So now that I'm back in business, it's time to pick up the slack after three weeks of virtually no posts from me and not even Tweets, with a movie recap and review! And of course, I wouldn't be me if I hadn't picked something that entertained me even before I went on my actual vacation, because honestly, there's nothing better than a good action movie.

Even if action is pretty much all you get in it.

But there you have it, I was a big fan, and still am, of Olympus Has Fallen, and so when a sequel was announced and the first trailer came out, I was stoked. When I finally got my hands on a copy, I truly was enthusiastic to see just what the screenwriters and creative minds behind it had cooked up.

I guess, though, that it's kind of difficult to follow the first film high if you're not James Bond.
