Tome Thursday: Forest of the Pygmies

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the final installment of this three-week journey, which began back in the Amazon, stretched across to the Himalayas, and is now coming home to roost on the continent of Africa.

Isabel Allende really did a magnificent job with her trilogy, and I, for one, am definitely here for it.

Besides, this is the last "normal" book, shall we say, before the Christmas countdown begins on this blog.

Yes, just like every year, I'll be reviewing all things Christmas, with any and all influences coming my way! So for the time being, say goodbye to anything that DOESN'T have those gingerbread cookies and candy canes in it.

Meanwhile, however, hit pause on it just long enough to read through this blog post, won't you?

Because this journey to Africa is kind of important.

Especially because it's the last book in the trilogy.

Without further ado, let's dive right into Forest of the Pygmies.

Talkie Tuesday: Black Panther

"The wise build bridges, but the foolish build barriers."

Hello everyone!

Well, it looks like I'm finally jumping back onto the Marvel Universe band wagon.

I know, I know. It took me long enough.

I feel like, after the disappointment I felt with the Spiderman remake, I needed to step back a little and reassess what I like and dislike when it comes to Marvel. They have many more hits than they do misses, but every once in a while they make a miss so spectacular you just can't help but goggle at them.

Anyway.

A couple nights ago I FINALLY sat back to watch the movie that's been talked about all summer long and which brought in a heck of a lot of green with dollar signs.

I have to admit, that alone made me wary.

But Black Panther stood and delivered.

Talkie Tuesday: Lara Croft Cradle of Life

"Time to be a hero."

Hello everyone!

I'm back with another movie review and yet again it's an oldie but a goldie.

I mean what else can you call a movie with Angelina Jolie running around in skin-tight clothing?

I knew you'd agree with me.

Anyway, of course I couldn't just watch the first Lara Croft installment when I started this whole shebang, I had to go through all the movies that were ever done in her name, so that means that the old duology was going to come into play.

And since I've already done the first movie, it's time for the second one tonight.

Lara gears up again in Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life.
