Tome Thursday: Where We Burn

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to the bookish section of the blog.

Looking at my choice for tonight, I'm realizing I might have left it for Christmas, because the book just so happens to take place over that holiday ... but then again, I love it SO FREAKING MUCH there's no way I would have been able to wait.

So instead you're getting it tonight.

And by 'it', I mean a believable, age gap romance, where the guy is the ex-boyfriend's father, and well, if you think it sounds complicated ...

It is.

Until it isn't.

So let's not mince any more words, shall we?

Instead, let's hop straight into Where We Burn.

Talkie Tuesday: Agneepath

"To gain something, you have to give up something to the path of fire."

Hello everyone!

Welcome to yet another Hrithik Roshan movie, back from what I consider to be his golden days of cinema when he was practically booking roles left, right and center, and mostly all of them shot him further into stardom.

Not that I blame anyone.

I mean just LOOK at the man!

Ahem.

Tonight's movie of choice is one I'd had on my list to watch for a very long time, but somehow never really sat down to it until I had a few days off at the start of autumn here and could muster both time AND energy to sit this through.

These ole Bollywood movies ... three hours! My body just can't anymore lol.

Without further ado, we're going to walk right down the path of fire with the goat, Roshan, in Agneepath.

Tome Thursday: Bloody Black

Hello everyone!

Or, perhaps I should be saying, ahoy, maties!

LOL

Either way, whichever greeting you choose, tonight's book is an absolutely DELICIOUS feast of a novel.

And I say that as someone who was incredibly, beyond wonderfully lucky to be chosen for the BETA READ of this.

Not an ARC, the way you usually see me blabber on about on this blog, but the beta version, which is one step before even an ARC goes out.

Listen.

I don't really know how it happened. I mean, I do, but I also don't, if you know what I mean? I'm just a voracious reader from one of the smallest countries in the world, practically under the rock for some of the behemoths fighting over air space nowadays. And yet here I am.

Which means, you lot get to take this journey with me tonight, so grab your swords, put on your hats, and let's lift the Jolly Roger way up high with Bloody Black!

Talkie Tuesday: Victoria's Secret 2024

"The biggest fashion show on Earth."

 Hello everyone!

So with the newest installment in these shows just around the corner (I think it's supposed to happen sometime in October?), I figured I'd retrace my steps and watch the 2024 version of it.

Because I honestly can't remember whether or not I watched it when it first aired.

My memory is THAT bad LOL.

Either way, however, I used to really enjoy and love these. They were big, they were fun, you could see the models were having the time of their lives, and the music segments were usually to die for.

I can honestly say that I think this might have been better off left buried, because last year's show just didn't live up to the hype of the previous ones.

I don't know if it was the music, the models who were trying to look like they're in high fashion rather than having fun, or what, but it just wasn't all that.

Still, let's take a quick look at the Victoria's Secret Fashion show, shall we?

Tome Thursday: Perfect Melody Silenced

Hello everyone!

After a long time, I'm returning to one of my all-time favourite post-cataclysmic worlds.

And that's saying something, considering how many dystopian books I've read up until this point in time, honestly.

But Sarah Westill somehow managed to create something unique where everyone else is usually doing the exact same thing, or similar at least, and it hooked me right from the start.

Now, to remember that I need to order physical copies of her books at some point in the near future ...

Ahem.

Seeing as the main story of her Guardians of Sziveria series has ended at this point, it's not that which we'll be looking at tonight.

No, these serve as prequels, of a sort, made even more important because her NEXT book series talks about the children of the couple happening in these.

Without further ado, then, Perfect Melody Silenced.

Talkie Tuesday: Rebel Moon The Scargiver

"To stand and die for a place to call home.

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to this next installment in the Rebel Moon saga.

I won't say these movies are the best that have ever been made, but they're definitely entertaining - although of course, if you know they were directed by Zack Snyder, there's a good chance there's some director cuts out there ...

Like with these.

I still need to watch THOSE, and I might just wrap up these blogs with thoughts on those two, but for the time being it's just the regular movies, and what I think about them.

Namely, however, my chief thought here is that these NEED to be watched literally one after another, otherwise you'll likely forget what's happened as the second picks up exactly where number one leaves off to begin with ...

So let's not dally, and have a look at The Scargiver.

Tome Thursday: Midnight Secret

Hello everyone!

Serenity Woods returns to the blog tonight in this book of choice, not that it's any surprise.

At this point, I'm only missing a handful of her works to both read and review on here, and I'm doing pretty well, I'd like to think!

Especially as she keeps on writing these amazing stories.

Tonight's is a little different in that it's an age gap romance, which I don't remember her taking a shot at before (I could be wrong, please correct me if I am!).

And also, there's a lot of modern day problematic included in this as well.

This isn't to discourage you, only to ensure you pay attention as you read and so you don't get fooled into thinking this is one thing, then emerge to find it's something else entirely.

I love the author. I want people to buy her books. And I want her readers to know what they're getting themselves into!

So without further ado, let's dive right into Midnight Secret.

Talkie Tuesday: Rebel Moon A Child of Fire

"Who among you is willing to die for what we believe in,

rather than hide behind it?"

Hello everyone!

Tonight, we're sailing into uncharted waters, or, possibly skies?

Skies. Definitely skies.

I'll admit that it took me forever to actually sit down and watch this movie, despite the fact that it's been on my list from pretty much the moment it launched. What can I say, I'm a sucker for space opera of any kind, notice that I've been watching Star Wars and Star Trek in every and all iterations since they launched, pretty much?

So you could say this is my kind of jam, honestly.

And in all fairness, it was actually pretty decent to watch, all things considered.

Not that I often listen to what critics are saying, because usually they're miles from what I'll end up watching, but still.

Buckle your seatbelts, because tonight we're flying into Rebel Moon's part one: A Child of Fire!
