Tome Thursday: Poison Petals

Hello everyone!

Welcome to tonight's book of choice.

And oh MAN is it a GOOD one!

So a while back in 2025, I joined this cute little ARC team - for Ms Lea Rose.

This was after I read Where We Burn, which introduced me to Hot Daddy Cowboy Christian Crawford and convinced me that I need to switch religions so I can worship at that altar.

I'm only partially joking.

But I've had the honour and privilege to read several more of Ms Rose's books, and pretty much all of them have been absolute bangers, so I wasn't even all that worried going into this one.

Did I not quite feel 100% about the beginning part of this duet? Yes.

But the ending one? Oh it's absolute magic.

Let's stop talking about the trappings and go straight into Poison Petals.

Tome Thursday: His for Christmas

Hello everyone!

Merry Christmas!

I hope you've all had a wonderful time, whether with your friends and family, or alone, because the most important thing to remember during the holidays is that they are what YOU make them to be.

Not what the internet is trying to tell you they should be.

And now, with that PSA out of the way, let's dive into the last purely Christmas book review on this blog, shall we?

I was saving this one for last because it just hit me in all the feels, ya know?

Also, because Lea Rose just writes so BEAUTIFULLY (and just revealed the title for her next book set in Rosewood Falls, and I AM HERE FOR IT), and because her books always bring out all the emotions so well.

So without further ado, let's hop right into it.

Because it's time to settle down in His for Christmas.

Tome Thursday: Decked, Wrecked and Pucked

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the first of the Christmas books that will be featured here on this blog during the month of December.

And boy, have I got a zinger for you!

Honestly, I don't know how I haven't run around in circles talking about it.

It's the perfect length for the season, it's got a heck of a lot of steamy, spicy scenes, it's got some ice hockey thrown into the mix, and it's got those angsty, perfect feels that'll get you all up there while you're working through everything with the characters along the way.

If I haven't mentioned already, the book is written by Lea Rose.

Also, if I haven't mentioned already, Lea Rose might just be one of my new all-time favourite contemporary authors. She just has this way with words and writing YEARNING that it's beautiful to witness.

So kick back, relax, and get ready to be Decked, Wrecked and Pucked.

Tome Thursday: Velvet Thorns

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to the blog.

I know I unfortunately had to take a mini break this past Tuesday, but that's because real life just CONSPIRED against me, and I spent most of my time either at work, or sleeping off being work-tired.

Here I am now though, with a pretty banger of a book that literally JUST released.

Like, it released yesterday.

I can't be any more on the nose about it than that.

Lea Rose has quickly shot right up to my favourite authors list with Where We Burn, and I'm now determined to read her other books as well because, hello, when you find an author you really like, that's what you do.

I'll slowly but surely collect them all on here for your reviewing pleasure while I'm at it.

So without further ado, to tonight's book of choice: Velvet Thorns.

Tome Thursday: Where We Burn

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to the bookish section of the blog.

Looking at my choice for tonight, I'm realizing I might have left it for Christmas, because the book just so happens to take place over that holiday ... but then again, I love it SO FREAKING MUCH there's no way I would have been able to wait.

So instead you're getting it tonight.

And by 'it', I mean a believable, age gap romance, where the guy is the ex-boyfriend's father, and well, if you think it sounds complicated ...

It is.

Until it isn't.

So let's not mince any more words, shall we?

Instead, let's hop straight into Where We Burn.
