Tome Thursday: Gift of Snow

Hello everyone!

And welcome to what I conveniently call the mix-up.

See, I was SUPPOSED to work on this particular review last week, because that's just how the schedule was set up, and somehow managed to switch it with Serenity Woods' story instead.

Never fear, however.

I always make sure to review EVERYTHING I read (or, basically everything).

So here we are to finish off a series that I started reading ... oh gosh, when was it? A while ago at this point, but that doesn't much matter because the important thing is we made it. This is the end! The final book to show us exactly who, what, and where, and give us a little bit of insight into some of the characters we see during the main storyline in the big five books.

Ah, another thing to explain. I'll be brief, but let's just jump in, shall we?

Gift of Snow is calling.

Talkie Tuesday: Dune Part 2

"The Holy War begins."

Hello everyone!

DUN DUN DUN.

As the saying goes. Because look at the quote at the beginning of the page. Huh? HUH?

Yeah, we're headed there baby, and despite the fact we've been actively trying to avoid it since ... well, the start of this all.

But some things are apparently actually predestined, so here we are.

I'm just a tiny bit late when it comes to the release of this movie, but not TOO late, which is just as well so I can ride the tail end of some of this hype.

And there SHOULD be lots and lots of hype, because we're going to be concluding the story in a third one, as already confirmed, although I don't think they'll manage to cover all that Herbert covered in his Dune books to begin with.

Without further ado, let's jump right into Dune Part 2.

Tome Thursday: Juliette and the Billionaire Boss

Hello everyone!

Apologies for missing Tuesday's post, but, unfortunately life just hasn't been cooperating this week. I'm sort of back in the groove of things now (I hope!) and I'm aiming to bring you a pretty neat beast come next Talkie Tuesday, so fingers crossed for that.

In the meantime, let's have a look at another book.

As we usually do, of course.

And this week is a pretty huge deal BECAUSE, it's the end of a long-running series, called A Boss in a Billion, by Serenity Woods.

This trilogy's titled The Christchurch Billionaires, and man oh man have they been amazing to read.

Now with Henry and Juliette's story, it all comes to an end, in the best way possible of course.

There isn't any other way when Ms Woods is the one writing these books!

So let's look at Juliette and the Billionaire Boss, then.

Tome Thursday: Scorched Redemption

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to another interesting book we're reviewing tonight.

Well, in all fairness, I've read and reviewed it on other platforms a while ago but, I had some others lined up that REALLY needed to be put up for viewing first so, here we are!

Sometimes, you just need to juggle a whole bunch of lemons altogether, and hope that you get either a lemonade or a martini out of it by the end, not just some lemon splat on the floor.

Rebecca Hefner is one of those authors I stumbled on completely by accident, and yet I've now managed to keep tabs on her for quite some time.

I'm not all that into her vampiric series BUT when she writes dystopia?

HOO BOY! She writes it BUT GOOD.

So here we go one more time, for the second book in the current dystopian tale, Scorched Redemption.

Talkie Tuesday: Tales of the Empire

"Long live the Empire.

Hello everyone!

Let darkness reign, let hearts quiver, and let us take a look at some of what went down during the reign of probably one of the most-known Empires the fictional world has ever seen.

I'm talking, of course, about the GALACTIC Empire, ruled by none other than Darth Sidious.

Back in 2022, Disney graced us with the animated Tales of the Jedi, and everyone around the world rejoiced.

Then they dropped the absolutely spectacular news that in 2024, we'd be seeing the OTHER side of the coin.

Aka, the Dark Side.

As if anyone would need any MORE invitation to watch this May 4th; hide your Force sensitivity, and let's have a look at Tales of the Empire.

Tome Thursday: City of Mirth and Malice

Hello everyone!

Welcome to a book feast.

And when I say feast, I MEAN feast.

Even though, for some inexplicable reason, I apparently DON'T have the first of this duology on my blog here.

Which I only JUST discovered, and how the HELLS it happened, I have no clue.

I'm going to rectify this mistake in the very near future and post about that as well; apparently I was missing some brain cells when I was reading the book last autumn and somehow didn't think to put it on here.

It makes zero sense, because I loved it so much, and now I love the sequel too, but there you have it.

Not everything always makes sense.

Without further ado, then, let's jump right into City of Mirth and Malice.
