Tome Thursday: A Court of Silver Flames

Hello everyone!

And that's a wrap.

Did it take me literal years?

Yes, yes it did.

Am I ashamed of that fact?

No, I am, in fact, not ashamed. Not at all.

Because, while, as you'll see, this is a book I ended up partially liking, it's still got a host of problems and I'm not all that keen on reading it again, although I possibly MIGHT before the next one releases, depending on what mood I'm in.

For me, it's all about the main characters. Or character, in this case.

Sarah J Maas usually kicks it out of the park for me, but this time it was a hit-and-miss, depending on circumstances.

Without further ado, A Court of Silver Flames.

Tome Thursday: Scorched Redemption

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to another interesting book we're reviewing tonight.

Well, in all fairness, I've read and reviewed it on other platforms a while ago but, I had some others lined up that REALLY needed to be put up for viewing first so, here we are!

Sometimes, you just need to juggle a whole bunch of lemons altogether, and hope that you get either a lemonade or a martini out of it by the end, not just some lemon splat on the floor.

Rebecca Hefner is one of those authors I stumbled on completely by accident, and yet I've now managed to keep tabs on her for quite some time.

I'm not all that into her vampiric series BUT when she writes dystopia?

HOO BOY! She writes it BUT GOOD.

So here we go one more time, for the second book in the current dystopian tale, Scorched Redemption.

Tome Thursday: Repressed Echoes

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to the weekly musings on books which tend to happen whenever I have too much time on my hands and figure out reading something's the best way to kill said time LOL.

Or, in other words, the weekly book blog!

This week we're returning to an author that I got to know via BookSirens, and actually got an email from them about another ARC being listed, something I squealed about.

Why?

Because it's another post-apocalyptic story, which I LOVED in Prevent the Past, but this one hits a little bit closer to home in that it, one: mentions the pandemic that happened, and two: it's about gratuitous drug use and more.

So it comes with a bunch of warnings but, it's honestly really, really awesome, and explores some pretty interesting (dangerous) concepts.

Let's dive right into Repressed Echoes, shall we?

Tome Thursday: Lover Enshrined

Hello everyone!

I am, apparently, on a vampire binge. I keep thinking I need to go back and rewatch the first three seasons of Vampire Diaries (which I absolutely adored, might I add, before Elena got turned into a vampire, because afterwards it became a trainwreck of epic proportions) yet haven't had the time to actually get down to business about it. I'll probably work it in at some point when the rest of the shows I watch wrap up for their current seasons!

But as I wrote last week, I was VERY happy about the release of J. R. Ward's latest Black Dagger Brotherhood book, 'The Beast', and I keep getting more and more stoked as she posts certain updates on her Facebook page which indicate A HUGE, HUGE SPOILER FOR THE NEXT BOOK!

I'm not going to write it down here. You'll see it on her page if you do check it out, although if you don't want to know I'd steer clear.

Apparently, however, the next book is titled 'The Chosen', which tells me that it's probably going to be about Layla and Xcor. I'm on the fence about it to be honest, but there'll be a lot of Qhuinn and Blay, so thank goodness for that!

As I'm on the binge though, I thought I'd do a review of another book in the series, number six: Lover Enshrined.
