Tome Thursday: Fated Salvation

 

Hello everyone!

 

And welcome back one last time to this trilogy.

 

I say 'this' because, I'm fairly sure that Ms Hefner isn't going to leave us hanging, but she'll make certain that she returns to writing dystopia which she does SO amazingly well.

 

As I've said before, I couldn't for the life of me get into the vampire stories she writes for some odd reason, because I do enjoy her writing style. But these, her dystopian trilogies? Oh sign me UP and sign me up AGAIN.

 

I'm actually kind of sad that this one's now over, it's a rather unique take and could really be pulled right out from our own world somehow, as well.

 

But enough about me and my mind processes.

 

We need to figure out whether the world as we know it is actually saved, or if it falls to the hands of an evil dictator.

 

Fated Salvation solves all those mysteries, and leaves us thirsty for more!

 

Tome Thursday: Scorched Redemption

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to another interesting book we're reviewing tonight.

Well, in all fairness, I've read and reviewed it on other platforms a while ago but, I had some others lined up that REALLY needed to be put up for viewing first so, here we are!

Sometimes, you just need to juggle a whole bunch of lemons altogether, and hope that you get either a lemonade or a martini out of it by the end, not just some lemon splat on the floor.

Rebecca Hefner is one of those authors I stumbled on completely by accident, and yet I've now managed to keep tabs on her for quite some time.

I'm not all that into her vampiric series BUT when she writes dystopia?

HOO BOY! She writes it BUT GOOD.

So here we go one more time, for the second book in the current dystopian tale, Scorched Redemption.

Tome Thursday: Repressed Echoes

Welcome back to the weekly musings on books which tend to happen whenever I have too much time on my hands and figure out reading something's the best way to kill said time LOL.

 

Or, in other words, the weekly book blog!

 

This week we're returning to an author that I got to know via BookSirens, and actually got an email from them about another ARC being listed, something I squealed about.

 

Why?

 

Because it's another post-apocalyptic story, which I LOVED in Prevent the Past, but this one hits a little bit closer to home in that it, one: mentions the pandemic that happened, and two: it's about gratuitous drug use and more.

 

So it comes with a bunch of warnings but, it's honestly really, really awesome, and explores some pretty interesting (dangerous) concepts.

Tome Thursday: The Dawn of Peace

 

Hello everyone!

 

I return with another vampire-themed book, or well, a connected one at least.

 

BookSirens is really good for feeding my obsession with these every once in a while, and then it all depends on my mood I suppose.

 

But I will admit that this prequel is a quick and easy read altogether, which definitely works in its favour.

 

I stumbled across Rebecca Hefner by complete accident when I picked up one of the ARCs she listed on the site, and then breezed through her other series without pausing to take a beat.

 

Her vampire one hasn't really laid such a claim on my heart and my attention as the first, but when there was a listing for a prequel I thought to myself, well, everyone and everything deserves a second chance, right?

 

So I went and requested to be added to the team.

 

It totally paid off.

 

Without further ado, let's just hop right into it, shall we? The Dawn of Peace, which is a very uplifting title, is up next!

 

Tome Thursday: The End of Hatred

 

Hello everyone!

 

So alright, this one took me ... a fair bit.

 

Like I said in one of my other posts, I will grab books off BookSirens quite often, but sometimes with the longer reading periods, it takes me a little before I manage to power through the lot of them.

 

Some are faster reads than others.

 

And some take me some time.

 

Tonight's choice has definitely been sitting there and tapping its foot impatiently for me to start browsing through the pages, and this week I FINALLY sat down so that I did just that. It only took me two days in the end, and that only because I really needed to take a break in between, or else I would have finished in one go I think.

 

But I mean, sometimes you need to stop looking at the words on the page, you know?

 

And so without further ado, let's jump right into my pick of the week, which is a vampire-inspired book, titled The End of Hatred.

 

Tome Thursday: A Timeline Restored

 

Hello everyone!

 

I finally did it, finishing this trilogy that I started a while ago. I feel pretty proud of myself haha!

 

I'll often start something but then end up getting distracted and sort of forget that I have other books in the series to finish off, or the series will putter out and my interest in it will fade exponentially, which means that, yes, I still don't have everything finished which I might have started reviewing on here.

 

BUT.

 

This one is now officially wrapped and man, was it a good read. I highly, highly recommend it if you're looking for some dystopia, good, strong leads, and steamy romance all at the same time.

 

Rebecca Hefner manages to capture all of that and more in this trilogy of hers and I honestly can't WAIT to pick up another book of hers because she's definitely one of those writers you can read again and again and again.

 

It's probably why her books are currently still resting on my e-book shelf as opposed to getting deleted right off the bat.

 

A Timeline Restored, the final book in the Prevent the Past series, is up.

 

Tome Thursday: A Destiny Reborn

 

Hello everyone!

 

So if you remember, a little while ago - more specifically in January of this year - I read and reviewed this little book about a group of scientists and soldiers trying to travel back into the past to prevent the POTUS from detonating nukes across the globe and destroying the world in the process.

 

I also said I would be returning to the series sooner rather than later.

 

And so, here I am!

 

Rebecca Hefner has quickly risen up the ranks of authors who I love to read books from and I can't WAIT to get my hands on the third and final book int this trilogy. Prevent the Past has definitely struck all the right chores for me thus far and it looks like number three might be the best of all.

 

But before we can get to the last book, we have to bridge the gap of course, with a little help from Booksirens (again).

 

Which means it's time to pick up the good fight once more and see whether or not we can help our heroes in changing the past.

Tome Thursday: A Paradox of Fates

 

Hello everyone!

 

I'm finally finding my reading groove again and going through some left-over books from right at the tail end of 2020 that I postponed in favour of some holiday ones, and I am enjoying myself a heck of a lot.

 

Then again, when there's SO MANY fantastic choices on BookSirens, you really don't need to worry about anything but having enough time in the day to read them all.

 

The chance of getting free ARCs is that much more appreciated nowadays with the entire world so topsy-turvy, and I can definitely see the appeal and the wonder of it all as I go along. Tonight's choice was actually one I thought would be fairly light-hearted and maybe full of romance, but in the end it turned out not to be and became even better than that!

 

When someone says time travel, you usually think Outlander, for obvious reasons, but this one has something else up its sleeve.

 

Because we're in the future, fifty or so years in the future, actually, and the world isn't remotely what we remember and know.

 

A Paradox of Fates is the first in a trilogy, and boy oh boy is it an explosive start!
