Tome Thursday: City of Mirth and Malice

Hello everyone!

Welcome to a book feast.

And when I say feast, I MEAN feast.

Even though, for some inexplicable reason, I apparently DON'T have the first of this duology on my blog here.

Which I only JUST discovered, and how the HELLS it happened, I have no clue.

I'm going to rectify this mistake in the very near future and post about that as well; apparently I was missing some brain cells when I was reading the book last autumn and somehow didn't think to put it on here.

It makes zero sense, because I loved it so much, and now I love the sequel too, but there you have it.

Not everything always makes sense.

Without further ado, then, let's jump right into City of Mirth and Malice.

Tome Thursday: The Silent Son

Hello everyone!

Time to dive into Norse lore again tonight.

It feels like I've planned this, reading so many books lately that take inspiration or are directly linked to our northern neighbours somehow, but I promise that's not the case.

I actually didn't even figure it out until I already had the books and was reading through them.

But it's definitely obvious I have a bit of a type, right?

All these books happen to be retellings, and this one tonight is no different either.

Remember that bit about the world ending, and each religion in the world having its own version?

Well, the Norse have one, too.

And Alexis L. Menard chose to interpret it her own way in her duology of books under the title The Last Daughter.

So come with us while we try to fight it off, in The Silent Son.

Tome Thursday: The Last Daughter

Hello everyone!

Back at it again with some more BookSirens ARC suggestions, because why wouldn't I be?

I think the site is one of the best sites out there for people to be able to read books prior to release or even after release without needing to spend so much money on an actual edition right off the bat, what if you don't like it?

This way, if you love the ARCs you're reading, you'll probably buy the book anyway and support the author like that!

Plus I mean ... Norse mythology.

Come ON we all love the Norse sagas, and with Santa Monica's God of War Ragnarok release almost right around the corner, this is getting a bit of an added boost if you ask me.

It's a great time to do anything Norse mythos related!

So make sure to bring warm clothes, because it's going to get cold before it gets hot.
