Talkie Tuesday: Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides

"It's not the destination so much as the journey, they say.

Hello everyone!

And, for the last time, welcome to the Caribbean!

Considering this has taken me absolutely forever, one would think that the fact I'm FINALLY done with this series comes as a sort of relief.

And it does.

It also, conveniently, makes me want to just watch them all again one after another, because truth be told these are some of the best movies that have ever been made, in my personal opinion.

Yours may differ, naturally, but let's be real.

Who of us hasn't wanted to see the next adventure of one Captain Jack Sparrow?!

Hopefully - fingers crossed - we might even get more of them in the future, because that would be awesome. But until then, we only have the old faithfuls to lean back on.

So sails up and oars in, mateys; we're sailing On Stranger Tides tonight.

Tome Thursday: The Last Daughter

Hello everyone!

Back at it again with some more BookSirens ARC suggestions, because why wouldn't I be?

I think the site is one of the best sites out there for people to be able to read books prior to release or even after release without needing to spend so much money on an actual edition right off the bat, what if you don't like it?

This way, if you love the ARCs you're reading, you'll probably buy the book anyway and support the author like that!

Plus I mean ... Norse mythology.

Come ON we all love the Norse sagas, and with Santa Monica's God of War Ragnarok release almost right around the corner, this is getting a bit of an added boost if you ask me.

It's a great time to do anything Norse mythos related!

So make sure to bring warm clothes, because it's going to get cold before it gets hot.

Talkie Tuesday: Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest

"Do you fear death?

Hello everyone!

Hot on the heels of last week's explosive introduction into our newest obsession (or, old-newest, considering these movies are all going for their two decade mark), it's time to have a look at just what happens when big corporations start meddling in little townships.

Oh yeah, that's basically all it's about in this one, really.

Well, that and a vast expansion of the world that suddenly becomes much, much bigger and grander than what we previously imagined.

Pirates of the Caribbean sail on the high seas once more, but this time they need to be wary of multiple things at once.

Betrayal abounds, and people seem to fall in lust left, right and center, and by GOODNESS but the sanest people you'd think should know what they're doing are actually the biggest idiots at the same time.

So without further ado, let's make sure we don't end up in bone cages.

Dead Man's Chest is a-thumpin', and the Locker awaits!

Tome Thursday: Love's Misaligning Magic

Hello everyone!

This week's book of choice for the review is somewhat different from my regulars because it's, one, very short, and two, somehow the middle book of the grouping which I normally don't do if I can help it.

I'm slightly pedantic in that I prefer reading even trilogies that CAN have books in them read as standalones in their proper order, but unfortunately for me I couldn't get my hands on the first book, so needed to start with book two.

Not to worry, however, because I have PLANS.

I will definitely be reading the first book and then figuring out how it all ends once the third releases!

Oh and, where did I get the copy of my book, do you ask?

So funny you should ask, really.

BookSirens, naturally.

I made sure to take a few ARC copies with me to vacation when I took off, and this was one of them, so let's jump right in, shall we?

Talkie Tuesday: Pirates of the Caribbean The Curse of the Black Pearl

"Begun by blood - by blood undone."

Hello everyone!

So a while ago - and this was REALLY a while ago lol - I kind of started my reviews into this particular franchise but never got round to finishing the entire thing.

Why?

No one knows. It's a mystery!

Anyway, this year during vacation I decided I was going to have a little watch party and refresh my memory about all this stuff, and while I didn't get to finish with the last movie quite yet (because I ran out of time and real life is unfortunately a thing) I DO plan on going through number five again as soon as humanly possible.

Until then, however, I can probably work on my collection right here on this blog.

Because not only do I NOT have the entire thing, I only have numbers three and five and the others are nowhere to be seen.

So without further ado, let's start at the very beginning which, as the song goes, is a very good place to start. Rum, ahoy! The Curse of the Black Pearl needs explaining.

Tome Thursday: Night of Ash

Hello everyone!

This week I bring you an early review of an ARC I was so very, very kindly sent by an author that's grown quite near and dear to my heart since we started chatting back when her first book released.

And let me tell you, MAN, it's getting hot in here!

I've reviewed every single one of the books in the series thus far on this blog and I don't see myself stopping now at the end, because why would I?

The end is going to be the very best part after all!

The third book is literally just around the corner at this moment in time, but thankfully we get a little short tale in between two and three to tide us over, like we did with the short story back between one and two as well.

All of it rounds to five lovely, LOVELY stories, and if you aren't hooked on a grumpy talking cat yet (who's actually a biped that was cursed into a cat for a hundred years) then I really don't know what to tell you.

So without further ado, let's put our sunnies on and wear that SPF, because Night of Ash brings the heat!

Talkie Tuesday: King Arthur

"It has always fallen to a few to sacrifice for the greater good."

Hello everyone!

So hot on the heels of that first returning blog post, I now return to regular programming with my movie reviews as well.

And BOY, do I have some goodies for this month!

... also for the start of September, because Netflix just told me that's what's going to happen.

Now.

A little while ago, I had this 'history' run here on the blog wherein I was watching and reviewing some of the better historic adaptations of stories that we all know and love. For some reason, however, I apparently never got around to reviewing the ONE actual historical movie that even experts agree is probably, to this date, the most accurate when it comes to the story it's telling!

And it's a shame because I FREAKING LOVE THIS MOVIE.

Without further ado, here it is then: better get that sword from the stone to fight, because King Arthur will absolutely need you.

Tome Thursday: The Secret Billionaire

Hello everyone!

Did you miss me?

I'm BACK from vacation, and man oh man do I have a bunch of good blog posts coming your way.

I had a lovely time just relaxing and spending as much time doing absolutely nothing so that I could recharge for the next stage, as it were.

And among those relaxing things was the fact that I read a heap of books.

Yep, there are lots and lots of books to be had when you're determined! Haha.

I've always been a bookworm though so this is no surprise, and tonight's blog post will happily wrap up a series that's been ongoing for a bit.

Remember when I mentioned at one point Serenity Woods is my favourite contemporary romance author?

Well, it's back to the drawing board and her last book in The Billionaire Princes, The Secret Billionaire, so come along for the ride!
