Tome Thursday: Roman Crazy

Hello everyone!

Back with another book blog in between watching Downton Abbey (yes, I finally caved in and started this, and I have to admit I'm loving it so far) and catching up on random shows before the regulars return from their last pre-finale breaks. I did have to take some time off, however, because even that can become a bit tedious if you don't mind me saying so.

So, instead, yesterday when the weather here turned windy and completely icky, I pulled out all the stops and went for the author that always, always makes me laugh.

Humour, thy name be Alice Clayton.

I believe I've reveiwed all of her Cocktails series here on my blog, but just in case, I'll look it up and the links will, as always, be down at the bottom of the page. For this installment, Roman Crazy, which seems to be the first in what I suspect will be at least a trilogy, she teamed up with another writer, Nina Bocci, and honestly it made for some great fun.

What could be better when you're trying to pretend it's warm outside than reading about sunny, sultry Rome in the middle of summer?

Saturday Snippet: Trophy Wife

This was where he should flirt with her, think of something funny and clever and sexy to say.
What he said was “Did you get your toilet fixed?”

Talkie Tuesday: The Adventurer, the Curse of the Midas Box

"My father says that trust is earned, sir

.... consider what I am about to tell you a down payment."

Hello everyone!

The movie I'm going tot alk about today is one that I probably would never have seen if it weren't for one of the main actors. And THAT would never have happened if I hadn't watched the White Queen tv show to begin with.

Sometimes, my process is incredibly convoluted, I do agree.

But from what I can see and what I've been following online it looks as though it might just be a stand-alone movie instead of turning into a movie franchise, though it really wouldn't have done well I don't think.

Sadly, this really was one of those one-of-a-kind movies which you put on to watch when you're super bored and want to be distracted.

Don't get me wrong, it was certainly entertaining enough! And I mean, any movie with Michael Sheen in it has to be somewhat good, because lord knows he's a magnificent actor.

Tome Thursday: Rusty Nailed

Hello everyone!

My head is debating whether or not it should take a trip down into pain-ville, but at the same time I decided earlier this morning to do a blog post, so a blog post I shall do!

And to my utter miserable shame, I promised to do this one back in October 2015.

Has it bee six months yet?

Yeahhhhh ... it has.

Oops.

ANYWAY.

Browsing through my little booklet of reviews where I note down everything and anything worth remembering, I found the rest of Alice Clayton's books, all neatly wrapped together and finished, and realized I never got back to Rusty Nailed even if I did promise the review. So here we are tonight, and I swear I'm going to be better with finishing this series! You won't have to wait until December for number three.
