Hello everyone!

It's a sort of bitter-sweet feeling to go about typing this kind of blog post for the very last time, because, as we all know - there will be no more Game of Thrones to look forward to. 

At least, not in the shape we've been used to since 2011.

In some ways, as a lot of the fans would say, it might even be for the best given the response to the last season, but at the same time, this show has been such a staple in our lives for so long that it's hard to understand it isn't coming back.

I can't even begin to imagine what fans of Supernatural are going through!

But anyway, regardless which camp you're in (happy fan or outraged fan, that is), this Sunday's series finale brought ... some kind of closure, I suppose.

Mostly on a lot of illogical storylines.

Let's sit back and take a look at The Iron Throne - and listen to the iconic theme song. One last time.

Game of Thrones: The Last of the Starks

"We have won the Great War. Now we will win the Last War."

Hello everyone!

We are now officially in the very last leg of this Game of Thrones season, and I have to say that fans are beginning to see just what a shortened season has caused in the overall plot and development. 

Not that this wasn't obvious on occasions prior to this week's episode, but it's usually when everything really comes to a head that you see whether a show can sink or swim.

It seems like Game of Thrones is beginning to slowly sink, which is sad news for something that's been so epic since the beginning.

Was it all bad? Of course not. It IS still Game of Thrones, after all.

But unfortunately it also wasn't all good, either, and that seems to be the standard by which people in general look at these episodes. I have to admit I'm one of them, too. There's a lot of things to sink your teeth into on television these days, but truly remarkable ones remain scattered and divided.

With now only two episodes to go, and five promising to be a smackdown of epic proportions, let's take our leave of the North, shall we? The Last of the Starks is basically a relocation.

Game of Thrones: The Long Night

Hello everyone!

We made it. Sort of. 

The Night King came and we mostly made it, so I suppose the day after is the time to count our losses, look and see just who it was that survived to fight another day, and figure out what in the seven hells went wrong.

Is anyone saying 'but nothing went wrong?'

HaHA. Sweet summer children.

A lot of things went wrong.

Still, at the end of the day, it was a cinematografic 80 minutes that HBO dished out for us, and for that I am truly thankful. With only three more episodes to go, it's coming to an end of an era, so I'm feeling bitter-sweet.

That being said, however, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Or misopinions.

So make sure to grip that dragonglass, and have a torch ready. The Long Night is upon us.

Talkie Saturday: The Last Witch Hunter

Hello everyone!

So since this past Tuesday was Halloween I figured I'd give up on trying to post something on my blog not connected to it, but I'd completely forgotten about this movie which has been sitting in my little sheep notebook for a while now. 

Of course, had I taken five seconds of my time and noticed Vin Diesel on the cover of the DVD, I might have remembered better.

The Last Witch Hunter isn't the kind of movie that I imagine great, global masses would rave about as they do with some other Diesel films in existence, but as for me I loved it. Whether it was because we got to see Sir Diesel in something else besides him riding or dying in fast cars jumping over submarines, or because Elijah Wood cured my inner wish for seeing more Frodo Baggins, I can't say.

What I can certainly admit to, though, is that I enjoyed the time I spent watching Diesel's character run around on screen as the unstoppable force of nature he always is.

I mean, come on; we all knew this was gonna be a street fight!

Hello everyone!

Well, we made it. Yet another season over and we all still seem to be standing. Okay, sadly, Thoros isn't with us anymore, and lamentably we said bye-bye to a lot of nameless extras who happened to tag along in just the right places to be conveniently killed, but you know what I mean. 

We're almost at the hail Mary for this show!

Game of Thrones has consistently delivered, despite perhaps not having the exact political bangs going on as it did while Martin was still actively participating and the episodes were based off his actual books. Which, to be perfectly honest, is not the show's fault. The producers can't be expected to wait FOREVER until the guy finally decides how he's going to untangle the mess he created for himself.

Also, he's still around, you know, giving commentary. It's not like it's not approved.

But in any event, The Dragon and the Wolf was an episode EVERYONE looked forward to - and pretty much everyone was stoked about by the time it ended.

Hello everyone!

Even at the seaside, I can't resist the lure that is Game of Thrones. I mean, come on, who could?

Definitely not me. 

Besides, there's something incredibly poetic about watching a big-ass dragon torch anything and everything in front of him while I'm sitting on the large terrace listening to the sea on the beach not too far away.

But I digress.

The penultimate episode of the season left us with one big-ass WHAT just as the episode ended (and you can see I love the term big-ass; I'll be using it a lot when it comes to the dragons, sorry-not-sorry!), but also with a sense of ... hey, guy ain't fooling around no more.

Beyond the Wall promised a lot - and delivered.

Can I just say one thing?

GOD.

SERIOUSLY.

Once again, some of my friends have complained nothing much happened in this week's Game of Thrones episode. I'm not entirely sure we're watching the same show anymore ... EVERYTHING HAPPENED THIS WEEK.

It isn't about the battles. It's not about who dies. It's about the people still living and breathing who're moving around the chessboard, and the declarations and revelations that keep hitting one after another and make me feel like I'm in one of those amusement parks trying to hold on for all it's worth. The episode titled 'Eastwatch' was EVERYTHING. And here's what happened.

Thankfully, our initial heatwave seems to be over at the moment, although looking at these stormclouds that seem to be gathering I'm apprehensive for quite a different reason this time around.

But anyway. 

Making sure I don't miss my weekly Game of Thrones blog, I come bearing gifts, which is the review for the fourth episode of the season, The Spoils of War! And dang, we're already past the halfway point now, only three more to go.

How fast does time fly, right?

And man, if you just look at these episodes, it's like we can never get enough, which is probably the point.

After all, there is only one Iron Throne.

Let me first tell you that I feel for the poor chicken which usually ends up in the cooking pot. I'm about the same right now and it's not even that late yet, but just sitting still I feel like I'm about to melt into a puddle on the floor. 

Summer has DEFINITELY got us in its grip, and will still for the next two weeks or so they say, so I desperately need some winter to cool off.

That pun was totally intended.

Anyway, after watching this latest episode of Un Passo Dal Cielo yesterday, I sat down to go through Game of Thrones as well, because ... well, because I couldn't resist, especially with that epic meeting in the works.

Let's move into The Queen's Justice, shall we?

Welcome, yet again, to another summer filled with Game of Thrones reviews and recaps. 

As I've done last year, I'm eschewing movies in favour of this television show because, SERIOUSLY, is there anyone (beside my sister) who hasn't seen this yet?

This Sunday marked the drop of the show's sevent season, a much-anticipated and highly speculated episode as well as the penultimate season of the show in general, since season eight is to be the last, during which we will finally, FINALLY, see the conclusion and who gets to sit on the bloody Iron Throne.

No pun intended.

So without further ado and without adding more to this introduction than is needed, let's jump right into the premiere, aptly named Dragonstone!

Game of Thrones: The Winds of Winter

Hello everyone!

IT'S DONE, YO! 

Ahem.

Anyone who knows me or who has been reading along with these blogs knows that I'm pretty much all over the place when it comes to Game of Thrones, but this Sunday's tenth and final episode of the sixth season was SO worth all the annoyance and tears and aggravation that came before. Most notably in season five because a lot of the stuff in five seemed to be something we would never, ever understand, only to realize it was all a huge build-up for this hour and some minutes!

Oh yeah, it was a super-sized finale. Gotta love THOSE.

And I didn't actually get to it before a friend of mine told me I better strap in for the ride, because apparently it was explosive. Like, literally explosive.

I didn't believe her until I saw through the ep, but you know what they say: seeing is believing.

I am now a firm believer. Also, I declare for House Stark, but that's beside the point.

Game of Thrones: Battle of the Bastards

So.

It happened.

Episode Nine.

I swear the number alone should come with a warning when it's Game of Thrones, because, looking back on previous seasons, the penultimate episode of each has ALWAYS been the one that made people remember just why it was that they initially began watching the show in the first place.

Season six, episode Nine, did not disappoint either.

Not only was it brilliant visually and condensed in terms of space and time, but it was also pretty much an epic smack-down which told us who will, in the end, probably prevail and stand over the charred and/or frozen corpses of their enemies.

Although, I will also freely admit that I made a very vital mistake in eating dinner prior to watching the episode.

Special shout-out to Maegan because, well, she told me not to, and I didn't listen.

Game of Thrones: The Broken Man

Back with this week's recap of the latest Game of Thrones episode, and, BOY, are things heating up the closer we get to the finale!

There are only three episodes left in this season!

Where did the time go?!

It feels like just last week we were all jammng along loudly to our favourite opening tune to any show when it returned to television for this run, and now here we are, entering the final stretch with only episodes eight, nine and ten left!

And if it'll be anything like previous seasons, I'm thinking episode nine is one to watch.

Game of Thrones: The Door + Blood of my Blood

Hello everyone!

So after last week's internet disaster, I'm back, and as I promised, tonight's blog post is going to combine the recaps of both the fifth and the sixth episodes of Game of Thrones (season 6, of course, let's not get ahead of ourselves here). 

The reason for this being because I've promised to recap the entirety of the season as it rolled along, which means that I can't stop now, can I? I need to see this through.

Not that it's a hardship.

Every Monday night, regardless of the fact that there used to be a number of shows which aired Sunday and I could only watch them a day after (less now as most of them are on a summer break), I'd first watch the hour in Westeros just to ensure myself that all was right in the world.

I mean, honestly?

If you think you have it bad, all you have to do is watch one of those episodes; you'll be darn sure by the end of it that your life is a walk in the park compared to these guys.

Game of Thrones: Book of the Stranger

"You will not serve - you will die."

Hello everyone!

It's back to Game of Thrones for the week, and BOY was it a whooper of an episode this Sunday! 

Naturally, most of the episodes in this series are the likes of, you know, oh my God who's going to die and who lives?! kind of thing, but really, some of them stand out even further along the already amazing stuff we see on screen.

What I'm most thrilled about is the fact that we are now seriously past the action of the books, because they've come to a stalemate and I think I even remember Martin saying he probably won't finish Winds of Winter this calendar year either. Which is just bleh in my opinion since honestly, drawing it out so much? That isn't stringing fans along anymore, that's losing them.

Anyway.

As the show moves into its own territory, I agree with some that certain aspects are probably slightly more erratic than in the books, but for the most part? Yes, PLEASE, don't follow anything written down anymore!

Game of Thrones: Oathbreaker

"My watch is ended."

Hello everyone!

Back to Game of Thrones, of course, as it's Tuesday and therefore time for another episode recap! With so much stuff going on it's a wonder that I manage to keep my head on straight through the lot of it. 

What keeps on astounding me is how the producers are now finally moving forward with the plot and all the unanswered questions that the author still hasn't gotten to as he hasn't yet finished writing his books. It will, however, admittedly be weird when he does end up publishing the last two as the show will be over by then and they might pick a different kind of resolution even though they know the ending, or so it has been said.

Until then though, we're going to have to make do with HBO's version, and I can't say I'm arguing against it!

Some of the stuff I've been anxious to see ever since the show started, so this season is DEFINITELY bringing me up to speed with that - and not just me, but everyone else around who's an ardent Game of Thrones fan!

Hello everyone!

So, I kind of lied. 

Last week, while typing up the blog post, I said that I don't generally do premieres or even recaps or whatnot. And really, I don't. I used to do this weekly blog thing every Saturday during which I looked back over what happened on shows during the week, but then it became too much, and I don't have as much time on my hands anymore.

I cancelled that one and I'm doing random snippets now, but somehow ...

Well, somehow, I'm beating all the odds and just going back on my own words because I feel like doing Game of Thrones recaps every week.

Yeah, yeah, I know I know.

Everyone and their mother seem to be recapping and reviewing this show, but I mean, let's face it, it's probably the biggest thing that's happened on TV in years. EVERYONE's talking about it. If they don't like it, they're dissing it, but even then they're talking about it! It's universal.

And on that note, let's jump right in, shall we?
