Talkie Tuesday: Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

"With certain people, things just seem better by spending time with them."

Hello everyone!

And welcome back.

Tonight, we're taking a look at something ... a heck of a lot different from what I usually watch.

I mean, just look at the title!

But I've been meaning to slowly ease myself into the Bollywood scene for a long time now, and as I was chatting to one of my best friends, she suggested this should be my starting point.

I'd had other movies starring Deepika Padukone already lined up, but this one preceded the lot, so I thought to myself: well, why not?

I like starting from the earliest starting point, after all!

Turns out it was the best decision I've ever made, and I can see why this movie holds a practically cult status. I mean, how can it not?!

Enough chattering. Let's have a look at what in plain English would be called This Youth is Devoted, but originally stands as Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.

Tome Thursday: Gift of Fire

Hello everyone!

Welcome to yet another magical review, and I do mean magical.

Because we're going to be talking about witches and wizards in this one.

BookSirens just keeps on coming through with the ARCs that you can get off the site, and tonight's book of choice is also one of them, followed by a sequel that I'll equally be reviewing at a later point.

However, you have to start at the beginning, am I right?

Although technically there's a novella before the main books start, but I didn't know that until I was already well into the two novels, so I'll circle back to it eventually at some point.

For right now, suffice to say that we're headed to Germany, there will be talk about the elements, and there will be magic.

Among other things.

Gift of Fire opens this world up for us and, boy, does it do a good job overall!

Talkie Tuesday: Batham Arkham Origins

"It's high time you realize you are a man, not an island.

A man's strength comes from not just brawn and intelligence, but also from his allies."

Hello everyone!

I'm sure some of you might have seen this coming, but if not ... well, unfortunately you'll have to contend with some more video game reviews.

And this week, we're heading right back to the beginning.

Well, alright, the way these games were released it isn't ACTUALLY the first one in the series, but CHRONOLOGICALLY it is, and that's the way I've chosen to re-watch the gameplays.

See, I've watched these all before, way before Gotham Knights popped on scene.

But with the resurgence in Batman interest, I decided I'm going to go right back and figure out how the story connects, if it does.

I kinda think it does, even if Knights supposedly isn't a sequel.

Anyway, we need to stop chattering and start talking about the game itself, right? Right.

Because Batman: Arkham Origins won't wait.

Tome Thursday: The Savage Garden

Hello everyone!

I'm finally back.

I swear it feels like years since I've been sick at all, and no, it wasn't the plague, it was just some random ass bug that my mother carried into the house.

It then made its happy little way over from her, to my dad, and then to me.

Suffice to say, my head is still not at 100%, but it's definitely better than it used to be, so here we are today.

I've unfortunately missed one review last week which I'll be bumping forward to March, at some point or other, but for the most part we're pretty on track, which pleases me.

Because let me tell you, I think part of what got me so wildly hard on this sickness was also how many things I had listed to get done.

No matter, we're back now.

And we're re-starting with a banger, called The Savage Garden.

Talkie Tuesday: Gotham Knights

"Gotham City called, and we have answered. And we will never abandon her."

Hello everyone!

It looks like there will be more video game summaries to be found on my blog post now that I've re-discovered my love for watching them on Youtube.

I've also made it a mission of mine to actually get my hands on a console at some point.

I'd DEARLY love to play some of the games I write about!

But I digress.

First of all, I have to make sure to do this game justice.

People seem to be split on the final verdict for this one, just like any other honestly. It feels like the times of being able to just buy a game and play it without the peanut gallery preaching back at you are over, which is kind of sad.

Particularly as this is a good game - maybe not perfect, but it IS good.

Which game am I talking about you may ask? Why, Gotham Knights of course.

Tome Thursday: One Night with the Billionaire Boss

Hello everyone!

And welcome back to another book review.

Tonight we return to my favourite contemporary romance novelist, Serenity Woods, because unless you haven't been paying attention, I tend to always have a book or two of hers on the list of current blog posts no matter what time of year it is.

Ms Woods didn't disappoint during this time either, and just this past weekend is when her latest work was released.

So if you haven't yet taken a closer look, what ARE you waiting for?

Gorgeous, kind-hearted and compassionate men find the women of their dreams in these romance novels, but for the most part they do it without what I like to call the unnecessary "Hallmark effect" manufactured crisis.

I kinda sorta didn't like THIS particular release as much as I usually enjoy them, but that's beside the point, because for the most part this is a GREAT book.

I'll explain my disagreements with it at the end of the post.

But first I need to tell you about One Night with the Billionaire Boss.
