Tome Thursday: Hunted by the Undead

Hello everyone!

Welcome to tonight's book of choice for the blog.

And dare I say, it's yet another banger?

To be honest though, I tend to only post the good ones on here, rather than ones I sometimes stumble upon that I either don't finish, or barely make myself finish (yes, they are the rarest of gems as I'm basically a black hole for reading, but they DO exist, I promise).

I think I might have only really posted a bad book review on here maybe once or twice, but that's about it.

As far as things go, it's only positives, bby!

Now without further ado, let's hop right into it, shall we?

We're revisiting one of my absolute favourite authors with her newest release that just hit the shelves this month, and it's time to brush off our knowledge of elemental magic for this.

Ladies and gentlemen: C. L. Carhart's Hunted by the Undead.

Talkie Tuesday: The Apothecary Diaries Pt 2

"Be wary of everyone."

Hello everyone!

Back again with the continuation of previous week's blog post, because in all honesty, you didn't think I'd leave you hanging now, did you?

Of course not.

This particular story is ongoing, and hasn't actually even had all of its storylines adapted yet, not to mention the episodes have yet to all air on Netflix where I watch it, but we DO have the full first segment of it released, and are now eagerly awaiting season two to drop.

So while we're doing that, let's just ... go through what the shenanigans of season one have been so far, shall we?

Because when you've got a eunuch, an apothecary, some concubines, not to mention random people trying to pull off heists of a lifetime, you're bound to be in for a whole lot of fun.

Without further ado, we're diving straight back into The Apothecary Diaries.

Talkie Tuesday: The Apothecary Diaries Pt 1

"Be wary of everyone."

Hello everyone!

Welcome back.

I'm apparently on an anime kick recently, but don't worry, there's going to be something else making its way onto the blog soon enough.

I just have to get through this first haha!

It's what happens when I'm bored and randomly browsing Netflix, allowing the streamer to choose suggestions for me based on what I'd already seen and liked.

And seeing that I rather enjoyed My Happy Marriage, I figured tonight's topic of choice could be something equally nice to watch.

Turns out, it's more than just that - it's full-on entertaining and hilarious, while also weaving a rather complex plot in the background!

So without further ado, strap in, because we're heading back to Imperial Japan with The Apothecary Diaries.

Tome Thursday: Fourth Wing

Hello everyone!

As you can see, we're back on the blogging grind, which I'm happy with to be honest.

I've missed being able to type my thoughts out haha!

Tonight we take a look at internet sensation which has taken the book world by storm. Literally and pretty much also figuratively and everything in between.

I'll admit that I never would have picked it up ... but a really good friend of mine, one of my best friends even, just kept on and on about how good this was, so I thought to myself, you know what? If so many are saying this is good, then I'll read it too.

I haven't regretted it since, and have picked up an actual physical copy of the book.

Because this is what I do: I read e-books then decide whether or not I want the actual thing.

So without further ado, it's time to put on our flying leathers, pin our hair back, and get ready to kick some serious ass.

Basgiath college awaits in Fourth Wing.

Tome Thursday: Gray Lady

Hello everyone!

A full April spent perusing and browsing through a single book series.

What could possibly be better, I ask you?

While the previous three books could be picked up on BookSirens - the lovely, lovely online resource for readers and writers alike when it comes to exchanging ARCs and reviews - this one was only available to the people lucky enough for Ms Nash to specifically choose for her team.

I count myself extremely honoured and humble to be a part of it.

And I am LOVING this series.

Like, seriously!

When all is said and done, this is a magnificent slow burn paranormal-based romance, and I truly wish that everyone would pick up a copy to read. It's just THAT good.

So without further ado - we return to the realm of ghosts tonight, in Gray Lady.

Tome Thursday: Spirit Guide

Hello everyone!

Yes, yes we are back to spirits and ghosts and some poltergeists to top it all off.

I'm honestly super stoked about these novellas, or should I say short books because I don't think all of them qualify for novellas, but truth be told it's about what's in them rather than what the actual length of the book is.

And I've fallen in love with the characters.

Not just the main one either!

The supporting cast is absolutely stellar in my personal opinion, you have a core group and then some who flit in and out depending on when and how they're needed.

It's a smart decision not to overwhelm readers, I think, because sometimes you get books that introduce far too many people and then attempt to juggle everyone without losing focus. It doesn't always work out, so this is a much better logic.

Also, yes, it's an ARC! The first three were available on BookSirens

So come along with me and let's discover everything there is to find about Spirit Guide.

Tome Thursday: Delicious Death

Hello everyone!

Back again with another really, really good book, and I can tell you right now straight off the bat that I'll be doing a speed-run through these that have already been published until I run out of material.

The best part?

There's two more still to come.

Or at least it's projected to cover six novellas and we're supposed to get a conclusion this year, which is always exciting, because I feel that as readers we do often have to sit and wait for what feels like forever to get to a certain point (looking at you, Martin and Rothfuss).

Byrd Nash isn't like that. She's also a lovely woman to chat to, so if you haven't picked any of her books up yet, I highly suggest you do so.

Last week we started on our journey with Ghost Talker, so this week it's only right and proper that we keep on keeping on with its sequel.

After all, ghosts - and ghouls - don't usually wait for anyone, so let's see what Delicious Death has to offer.

Tome Thursday: Ghost Talker

Hello everyone!

We're starting April off properly, with a good, old bang.

As you all know by now, I tend to meander around BookSirens and usually have between three to five books in the works from that particular site - because they're awesome like that.

I've mentioned them multiple times before: they're an online cross-roads where authors can list their ARCs up for grabs and readers can get them for free in exchange for reviews. It's honestly a really, really great site to have on your list if you're like me and love to read, but don't always want to head on down to the library or buy something you aren't sure of.

I tend to buy about three quarters of the e-books which I first have a look at on the site, though.

This one tonight is no exception!

I was suggested this one in one of their 'books you might like' e-mails, and because I'm a fan of whodunit mysteries it was a no-brainer, really.

Especially since it also promises a slow burn romance!

So here we go, everyone. Ghost Talker is the first novella of this six-part series, and tonight's reading of choice.
