Tome Thursday: A Court of Frost and Starlight

Hello everyone!

So.

I have a confession to make.

This book.

For some reason, it took me FOREVER to sit my ass down and actually read it.

I was super excited when it was announced that there would be more books in the series, and when the novella was released, I was literally climbing up walls with a GIMME GIMME GIMME chorus singing all around.

And then.

Then I stored it, and didn't start reading until very recently. No clue what happened.

But A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas probably deserved better treatment!

Talkie Tuesday: The Ottoman Lieutenant

"I thought I was going to change the world.

But, of course, it was the world that changed me."

Hello everyone!

It's blog post time yet again and I've dug out an older entry from my little sheepy notebook. One that I absolutely LOVED while watching but somehow never got to actually review before, which is actually shame on me, but what would you?

Anyway.

Last summer during my little vacation, when I took the time off to not be online more than strictly necessary, I watched a heck of a lot of movies.

And among them was one which I'd actually stumbled upon rather randomly without even knowing I'd been looking for it. Of course this happens to me a lot when I somehow land with movies I never knew I wanted to watch until I watch them haha.

I'm talking about one that might not have gotten the international promotion that Avengers did, but it was cool just the same: The Ottoman Lieutenant.

Tome Thursday: Dearest Ivie

Hello everyone!

If I tell you when I'm typing up this blog post you probably won't believe me, and yet, here I am.

It's 6 in the morning and I'm breathing in the fresh, summer air from outside without melting, because it's said that today is supposed to be the hottest day of the season so far before we get a storm front and it rolls over everything like some sort of bulldozer.

And yes it's bringing lower temperatures right along with it, so there we go.

I got up early because I feel as if I get more things done when I'm not halfway to a melting point, and judging by what I can hear from the city itself I'm not the only one who thinks that.

So without further ado I'm going to stop blabbing and actually start the blog post which will go up about twelve hours from now.

As I'm not in the mood for something complicated, I chose Dearest Ivie.

Talkie Tuesday: Lara Croft Cradle of Life

"Time to be a hero."

Hello everyone!

I'm back with another movie review and yet again it's an oldie but a goldie.

I mean what else can you call a movie with Angelina Jolie running around in skin-tight clothing?

I knew you'd agree with me.

Anyway, of course I couldn't just watch the first Lara Croft installment when I started this whole shebang, I had to go through all the movies that were ever done in her name, so that means that the old duology was going to come into play.

And since I've already done the first movie, it's time for the second one tonight.

Lara gears up again in Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life.

Tome Thursday: The Thief

Hello everyone!

With my book reading situation now resolved, even though it really wasn't that bad, I can now return to catching up on all the new releases which came out in the meantime.

See, the good thing about e-readers is that the light from their screens isn't the same as from a computer or phone or television, it's less damaging to the eyes and therefore you can read more and quicker (unless you read for 24 hours straight, but that's beside the point haha).

So of course once I got my Kobo up and running again I had to load all my favourites and the new releases, which turned out to be a bit of a pile in the end.

And then it was just the task of chewing through what I'd set myself up to read.

Among those waiting on my TBR list was the newest book by J. R. Ward.

So of course, tonight's blog post will be all about The Thief.

Talkie Tuesday: Lara Croft Tomb Raider

"Time to save the universe again then, is it?"

Hello everyone!

So remember last week as I was writing out my review of Tomb Raider, the 2018 reboot of the movies which made the Lara Croft role iconic?

Well, as that movie was ending, I got the urge to watch the original two.

Because nothing, and I mean nothing, beats Angelina Jolie when she's kicking ass or walking into a room like she owns the place.

Of course I was incredibly lucky to snag both the first and second movie together, but I have to finish the second one tonight since ... well, haven't managed it yet. I know, I know, it's taking me forever, what can I say?

But without further ado and me babbling on about things that really don't matter, let's get into the review of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.

Tome Thursday: Shadows of the Empire

Hello everyone!

So a little while ago I did a blog post which only featured one image - and that was one for a trilogy of the Star Wars Expanded Universe books.

I've since learned that these books cover not only the post-original trilogy but also the era of the Old Republic, which is pre-prequel trilogy, and pretty much everything in between. I mean, I have this amazing friend who gives me all the timelines and titles so there's that.

Yup, I'm blessed.

But anyway, said friend DID recommend where I should actually start reading, and while my inner OCD beast is snarling that it wasn't with the chronologically first book, I'm pretty happy I read the book I did!

Because really, it was the best ever stepping stone into the universe.

It had everything - humour, characters we know and love, action, and some more humour!

I'm talking about Shadows of the Empire.

Talkie Tuesday: Tomb Raider

"Us Crofts, we have responsibilities; jobs to do."

Hello everyone!

So hot on the heels of learning Shadowhunters have been cancelled after three seasons (NOOO!) I'm here tonight with another movie review and it's actually, FINALLY a more recent one.

Although yes, I do still have movies back-logged that I have to either put on here or simply watch, this was one that suited me the evening when I watched it, and then of course what happened was that it led to a bit of a movie night with me watching ... everything else afterwards haha.

It's one of those action flicks that you either love or love to hate, there never seems to be a middle ground anywhere which is kind of sad, all things considered.

But then, audiences are NEVER satisfied these days.

So what movie am I talking about, you ask?

Why, the 2018 action retelling Tomb Raider, of course.
