Tome Thursday: Red Hail

Hello everyone!

This one is another book that came straight off BookSirens.

And man, do I love me some free ARCs.

I don't really do them one after another, but I do usually grab one or two per month if nothing else, because let me tell you, they cater to pretty much every reading niche you can think of.

This was one book that I actually found at random through an email they sent me, and I was intrigued enough by the blurb that I picked it up even though I don't usually read that kind of science fiction.

I'll admit, I'm more of a fantasy or history kind of gal.

But every once in a blue moon I'll run into this title or blurb and want to sniff around to nose out what it's all about.

The same happened with Jamie Killen's book, even though I really DON'T read these.

But Red Hail just begged to be read.

Talkie Tuesday: A Plum Pudding Mystery

"Murders have to be solved."

Hello everyone!

Okay, yes, this isn't exactly the time to talk about this particular movie installment in the Murder, She Baked series, considering it happens at Christmas time, but there's nothing to it - it's the second one that follows A Chocolate Chip Cookie Mystery.

And I'm big on chronological order, you know.

Plus there's just something about this particular series that keeps me both amused and entertained at the same time!

It might be Alison Sweeney, or it might be Cameron Mathison.

Either or, although I'll also admit that the stories and the lines running through them are also quite interesting to follow along, if you go into this simply for entertainment's sake.

Agatha Christie it will never be, but it IS something to enjoy just the same!

Tome Thursday: Midnight Sun

Hello everyone!

Well, after who knows how many years - 10? 12? 15? - it's FINALLY here.

Fans of the Twilight Saga have been practically BEGGING for this particular installment all that time, and the author finally decided this was the one open chapter from times past she wanted to close and put to rest.

I'm not going to lie, I was pretty stoked when news broke about the August release.

You can bet I grabbed this thing ASAP and read it through in two to three sittings.

Interestingly enough, while I thought it would take me a lot less, I needed to take my time with it to really enjoy it properly, which I did.

And before we dive straight in, let me just say, to all the haters out there: we all enjoy different things. If the boys can get a million installments of Fast and Furious, one more book for Twilight fans isn't going to break the world.

Midnight Sun is a worthy addition to any Twi-hard's shelf.

Talkie Tuesday: A Chocolate Chip Cookie Mystery

"Given the right circumstances, everyone is capable of murder."

Hello everyone!

I'M BACK!

And oh my gosh did this take forever.

I do apologise, but this year I decided to just not say anything as we headed off to vacation, and spent a lovely two weeks just decompressing and relaxing.

Then I thought I might be able to get some things done last week, but turns out the whole get your wisdom teeth removed surgery is a little bit more complicated than that.

I caught a light fever mid-week after the Monday situation and so took it easy for the rest of it.

So now, here I am!

With another Hallmark thing. Because obviously Hallmark.

I started a new series (for me anyway) while away, and I have to admit that I'm thoroughly enjoying it so far. I mean it's not Agatha Christie level, but it's definitely entertaining.
