Tome Thursday: Kiss and Cry

Hello everyone!

Are you surprised?

No one should be surprised. I tend to be like a bloodhound on a scent whenever Keira Andrews releases a new book!

Which was exactly what happened this week.

If you've been following this blog for a while then you'll know that I pretty much have Anderson books galore in review on here, and I'm STILL not finished, because I keep finding more that I haven't picked up yet.

However, as I was reading her latest holiday-inspired one, I was very much aware that it would lend itself very well to a sequel, which means that I was super stoked when the author actually announced one!

I mean, come on. When you have characters that seem to just pop off the page in a way that makes it impossible to ignore them, what else are you going to do but write their story, correct?

I know. Absolutely correct.

So lace up those skates and let's head on into Kiss and Cry, shall we?

Talkie Tuesday: The Yorkshire Vet

"It's the best job in the world, really.

Hello everyone!

Tonight's blog post is a spotlight on a show that's become very near and dear to my heart, but ti's also a bit of a work-around, to be honest.

I ended up running out of time due to a situation in my family, so I couldn't really spend two or so hours watching a movie which I would then review here on the blog.

Things SHOULD be back to normal, or normal enough at this point, that next week, when February starts, movies should be making a come-back here on the blog. I have a nice line-up to go through and am definitely looking forward to sharing them!

Or catching up with them. Either way!

For tonight though, it's something different and something that's more educational than it is amusing - though there's enough amusement in it for everyone's taste as well.

I'm talking about The Yorkshire Vet.

Tome Thursday: Levkaseon

Hello everyone!

I return with more book reviews, and more from BookSirens as well!

I'm back on the grind, so to speak, but is it really a grind when you're doing what you love to do? I wouldn't think so, not really.

Because, at the end of the day, reading gives me peace of mind and it's a hobby I've been cultivating for all my life at this point, which means that in all honesty, if anyone ever tells me I have to stop, I may need to go separate ways with them forever.

No joke!

But anyway, before I run too deep down into the rabbit hole, let's get on with the show, shall we?

Because last week, I reviewed the start of a series, and then realized hey, there's actually a prequel novella that I somehow missed with my OCD-brain.

Did I pick it up? Naturally.

So without further ado, let's look at Levkaseon, a name that sounds totally Swedish to me for some reason, but is probably not!

Talkie Tuesday: The Witcher

 "Destiny alone isn't sufficient.

Hello everyone!

Hopefully you've enjoyed catching up on things now that the new year is well and truly underway.

And of course, we mustn't forget the fact that there were quite a few shows that debuted right at the tail end of 2021 which haven't had spotlit here yet.

I had loads of fun talking about The Wheel of Time last week, but in doing so I needed to push back one other that I literally devoured within three or four days.

See, with WoT, I took my time and I allowed for breaks and whatnot; I didn't take any of that for the second.

I even took a break from EVERYTHING ELSE I was watching just to make sure I was all caught up and had gone through it all!

So without further ado, toss a coin if you can, aye? The Witcher season two is here.

Tome Thursday: Wintersfall

Hello everyone!

The next installment in our book blogs this year is another BookSirens edition, because ... well, because.

I was actually on a time crunch with this one because for some reason it slipped through the cracks for me and I ended up needing to hustle to finish it so that I could deliver by the deadline.

I've sort of made myself a promise to read faster now LOL.

Anyway, I was intrigued by the story synopsis and initially thought it was just going to be one of those easy, summery romance reads with maybe a sprinkling of some other international spy agency stuff thrown in the mix.

Of course I couldn't have been more wrong and THAT is something, honestly!

I very rarely get surprised by books these days but this one sure did, and Sarah Westill knew exactly what she was doing when she wrote it if you ask me.

Because not only does it actually have a concrete plot, it's also got intrigue and mystery for days, and there's more to it than meets the eye!

So here we go, enter Wintersfall.

Talkie Tuesday: The Wheel of Time

"There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time."

Hello everyone!

You know, I'm proud of myself.

I'm actually NOT as late to this shindig as I normally would be!

I mean, I'm still kinda late, but it's not six months or so late, only a month instead. This is an achievement as far as I'm concerned.

Considering the fact that we tend to not get these shows all that early to begin with (certainly not as early as our US or Canadian counterparts) I'm pretty pleased with how it all turned out. And I mean, it's catchy to look at, and has a second season already (currently) filming.

What more could you even want?

So without further ado I'm going to stop spinning yarn, and start weaving the One Power instead.

The Wheel of Time, show edition, is up for debate.

Tome Thursday: Graveyard Waltz

Hello everyone!

For the first choice of my 2022 book blog entries, I picked one that I actually needed to finish and submit the review of during the holiday season, but I was a bit busy with holiday entries at that time.

Besides, I need something pretty epic for the start, right?

Like with the Talkie one!

And this one IS epic.

I mean to be fair, the first volume of this series was already pretty darn epic all on its own, and I reviewed it back in the summer of last year. I almost completely forgot about the fact that there was supposed to be a sequel until BookSirens kindly reminded me of that little bit of information.

Once I had it, though, I also had to nab the book ARC from the site as well.

Ain't nothing funnier than a necromancer and a vampire, let me tell you, although if we're being fair what's funnier might be the fact that there is a tear-inducing cliffhanger at the end!

Graveyard Waltz is up next.

Talkie Tuesday: Harry Potter 20th Anniversary Return to Hogwarts

"After all this time? Always.

Hello everyone!

Happy New Year!

As is fitting, I chose something that I think most people have tuned into and loved to kick off the 2022 blog posts, even though I have some other topics and titles waiting on the backburner to be used and utilized.

BUT it's always good to take a look back memory lane, especially when it's something so beloved!

In case you haven't been paying attention, Harry Potter made a bit of a comeback recently, and it was SO much better than the book we won't even name.

No, seriously.

When you want to do something right, you go and do it in such a way that it actually makes sense and draws in viewers again.
