Tome Thursday: Cobweb Bride

Hello everyone!

Back with the first book review of the new year, and BOY do I have a kicker for you!

I mean, to be fair, I saved it because it sort of sounded like something I might potentially enjoy, and then some, but at the time when I took it from the Kobo free book offer, I stashed it away and didn't feel like reading it quite yet.

Then after over-indulging in Christmas books and all that other gooey stuff, I needed something else to clear my head.

Oh, and I have to load Drums of Autumn again. Why did I delete it off my ereader?

I don't know, Kobo; I truly don't know.

But I digress.

Tonight's blog post is about a book that's just ... it was SO GOOD. I couldn't put it down, even though I'd spent a lot of time translating, my eyes were smarting and the letters were dancing.

But Cobweb Bride refused to let me out of her web until I got to the final dot.

Tome Thursday: City of Stars

Hello everyone!

Back with book number two in the books series Mary Hoffman wrote about teenagers who can somehow move through space and time and end up in a different world altogether.

It was something that I found as a high school student (and thus a teenager) myself, and I could honestly relate at that point.

I can relate less now that I consider myself an adult, but that being said it isn't exactly rocket science to sit down and enjoy a book you know you liked back in the day! Which means I'm definitely going to be munching through the rest of the series.

Except ... as this is the last blog in November, I'm going to be doing more Christmas-y or seasonal blog posts through December.

Probably not Vlogmas, like so many others do, but the flare and flavour of my posts will certainly be other than what you see during the rest of the year.

But to finish us off in this last autumnal blog post - City of Stars!

Tome Thursday: City of Masks

Hello everyone!

Time flies when you're having fun. I can't believe it's Thanksgiving already for the Americans! It's like someone wound the clock to go faster and faster.

I'm now allowed to watch Christmas movies AND listen to Christmas music, and I can admit I've already taken GOOD advantage of this. After all, I have a heck of a lot to catch up on with Hallmark's countdown!

That being said, however, I still really enjoy picking up books that I may remember reading when I was younger but then unfortunately losing sight of.

This is what happened with me this week.

When I was in high school (and before that, and still later, and today), I tended to devour anything that my local library had to offer. Among those was a series of books about an alternate universe Italy, which I completely forgot about.

Well, no more! Let's start it with City of Masks.
