Talkie Tuesday: Her Pen Pal

"The real triumph is not in the final product - it's in the journey."

Hello everyone!

You'll never believe what happened this weekend.

Or maybe you will, who knows?

Either way, what happened was I watched a Hallmark channel movie from this year's lineup - and I actually really, REALLY liked it.

This is a monumental thing, because I haven't really enjoyed any of their productions this year yet, not the way I have in the past.

I don't know what it is, whether I've finally reached my limit or what, but the movies just aren't as good anymore, in my opinion at least, and they come across as even more ridiculous in terms of plot twist twenty minutes before the end than they would normally do.

But this weekend, they FINALLY delivered.

And it's apt, because the movie was Her Pen Pal.

Talkie Tuesday: Victoria's Secret 2016

"The biggest fashion show on Earth."

Hello everyone!

So this Tuesday's blog is a little bit different because it's not going to be about a movie or a TV show, even though I have way too many of those to catch up on and to write about. Oops. What can I say, I'm a bit of an addict here!

But no.

Tonight I'm going to be talking about, what the quote up there says: the biggest fashion show on Earth.

I'm talking about Victoria's Secret, of course.

I got into watching the annual shows VERY late in the game, a couple of years back, because a friend of mine showed me some videos and the like, and I liked the production of it all (also, the models are gorgeous, let's be honest here, every girl gets a hit on her self-esteem when they show up, but I mean, what can you do?).

So instead of chattering on about an action movie or a comedy or even Timeless, I'm just going to dive right in, and talk about fashion tonight.

Talkie Tuesday: The Count of Monte Cristo

"How did I escape? With difficulty.
How did I plan this moment? With pleasure.
"

Hello everyone!

This week is going to be a bit Alexandre Dumas-coloured, if I do say so myself. I've been meaning to do something of the sort for a LONG time, but unfortunately, other things kept on happening and distracting me, this included but not limited to Rick Riordan and his books popping in and out of my reading list.

Yeah, I should probably dial down on the whole Jack the Sword quotations, right?

Anyway.

A while ago (this being now a long while ago) I decided, for some reason, to sit down and read The Count of Monte Cristo from beginning to end. As luck would have it, this took a bit (that thing is HUGE).

As luck would ALSO have it, in the meantime they aired the movie adaptation on television, though I had to double back and watch it later on as well because ... let's face it, I missed the whole beginning.

With that in mind, let's launch into our Monte Cristo-themed week!

Brussels

I was originally going to do a regular Tuesday blog post, but decided against it.

In lieu of the Brussels attacks, I feel like it would be inappropriate for me to talk about how much I enjoyed watching something. There is nothing remotely enjoyable about these attacks, and I sincerely hope that this doesn't boil over entirely.

Pray for Brussels. Pray for Paris. Pray for Ankara. Pray for the world.

Saturday Snippet: Paris

Hello everyone,

I was going to post something else today, but cannot, in good conscience, ignore what has happened.

I stayed up pretty late yesterday, November 13th, and I remember before going to bed refreshing my Google News page; there was mention in a title of an 'explosion' in Paris, with an unknown number of casualties, but at the time, it was as yet undetermined what had exactly caused this.

I woke up this morning at 7 am to find my parents and sister watching the BBC news in an eerie reenactment of what happened earlier this year during another French situation, and I saw to my horror that the death toll was now around 120 people, and rising ...

Not to mention everything ELSE that seems to be happening in the world right now.

I have no words.
