Talkie Tuesday: HFW Burning Shores

"Home isn't really a place at all. It's more like ... the people I want to be with."

Hello everyone!

So here's a story for you:

I was all set to watch a Hannah Swensen mystery this past Sunday, because I remembered that I really enjoyed the Murder, She Baked on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

Turns out, as I start watching the movie I'd chosen, it looks ridiculously familiar.

Aaand I already have it on the blog.

Given the fact that the newest entry only really premiered this weekend as well, I won't be able to watch it until a week's past, so I had to call an audible and switch gears real fast.

Luckily for me (and my unfortunate head with the biggest potential for a migraine I've had in forever) I was only about an hour away from finishing something else, this time on Youtube.

So I picked the DLC that everyone and their mother's been waiting for since Guerrilla announced it.

Burning Shores picks up Aloy's story, and runs with it.

Talkie Tuesday: Horizon Forbidden West

"When it looks impossible, look deeper. Then fight like you can win."

Hello everyone!

So.

I totally slept on this blog post because I swore to myself, when the game was first released, that I'd be doing a review as soon as I could go through the playthrough on Youtube.

As I don't own a console myself, that's kind of the only way I get to experience these games (my computer is also definitely not game friendly!).

But then ... life happened? I guess?

I really don't even know!

Given that this was one of my two most anticipated games of 2022, one would THINK I'd remember it all earlier, but apparently not, so here we are.

Without further ado then, let's jump right into it.

Horizon Forbidden West is calling. And it is amazing.

Talkie Tuesday: HZD The Frozen Wilds

"Only in the struggle against death to we find, even for a moment, the spark of life."

Hello everyone!

So I kind of lied to myself.

I figured I'd review Horizon Zero Dawn and then move on to movies and TV shows again, but then I started watching the playthroughs for the DLC and ... well.

The rest, as they say, was history.

To be fair I didn't think I was going to review the DLC until somewhere three quarters in though. Initially I definitely thought I'd just watch it, and actually already decided not to touch the review somewhere at the halfway point.

But then I just couldn't not.

Both the DLC and the main game are probably some of the best I've watched in a long, long time, so I thought they both deserve the recognition.

Which means we're heading into The Frozen Wilds.

Talkie Tuesday: Horizon Zero Dawn

"I would have wanted her to be curious.  And willful,

unstoppable even, but with enough compassion to heal the world."

Hello everyone!

So this week I'm doing something much, MUCH different than any other week before.

You're probably wondering how this all makes sense. After all, I may have mentioned in some other post (or two) that I'm not actually a gamer, strictly speaking. I don't have a computer that could handle that type of graphic, and I definitely don't have a gaming console at this moment in time.

But what I DO have is access to Youtube, and you can find pretty much any game played from start to finish on there, if you know which gamers to follow.

I've been following Tmartn for a few years now, but I've equally been subscribed to Tetraninja, and it was the latter's gameplay of this masterpiece that I ended up going through.

And man, did I power through it. I just couldn't stop watching!

I've seen some gameplays in the years since I started watching, and all of them have a story worth following, but I don't think I've ever run into something as insanely awesome as Guerilla Games' production of Horizon Zero Dawn.
