Tome Thursday: Cold War, pt 2

Hello everyone!

And here we are as February draws to a close, with the second half of a review that we began last week.

Have you enjoyed the book? I hope you have!

See here's the thing, as far as I can understand it: it was originally published as a duology but then edited and re-published as one single book written in two parts, which actually works in its favour, come to think of it.

Ms Andrews has released an actual duology earlier this year, but the problem there was that the second book certainly suffered from the fact that it was second.

It would have maybe been better if it had also been done like this one in the past.

But I don't claim to be an expert and certainly not on publishing methods, nor writing! In any event, I enjoy Ms Andrews' writing regardless, and so here we are.

Let's head back into the world of figure skating for another week, shall we?

Cold War is up, for a second time - and has nothing whatsoever to do with real life situations right now.

Tome Thursday: Shadow and Bone

Hello everyone!

Guess what, I'm actually more or less on time with this one.

Well, alright, not publication time, but I AM on time in terms of the fact that the Netflix show hasn't exactly been out for too long yet (which I still need to watch, actually) and I'm actually on point with the first book.

That's what I call a win!

Mostly. LOL.

I've read a book or two by Leigh Bardugo before, I think, and while I was okay with her writing style I was never into the whole Grishaverse thing that everyone else was raving about until I figured I might as well read the book before watching the show, as it made more sense to me.

And at that moment I also figured out some very important points, but I'll get to them later on in the review.

For the time being, let me just stop babbling and get straight into Shadow and Bone, alright?

Talkie Tuesday: Big Miracle

"We're going to help free the whales."

Hello everyone!

In continuing with the tone I set last Thursday, I'm coming to you with something slightly different tonight, or at the very least different to what most of the movies I review are about.

Most of them are pretty funny, light-hearted, fluffy sort of peaces that occasionally put in some action sequences or have something funny for us to laugh about, but I've realized I apparently don't often watch biographies or things like that.

True stories, and inspired by true stories, are rare for me because I generally watch things to forget about the real world, and to turn my mind off from it.

Every once in a while, however, there's something that you just HAVE to see.

When it's all about whales, then you DEFINITELY have to see it.

Big Miracle is just one of those things. You can't not. That's all I'm going to say on the matter before diving right in!
