Talkie Tuesday: Allegiant

"EVERYONE is worth saving."

Hello everyone!

I debated long and hard about what I wanted to talk about tonight in this blog post, as when I browse the web, there are certain things that I don't see, but want to. Like, for instance, recaps of the Poldark episodes, because sometimes I don't have time to actually watch the episode but would still love to learn what happened ...

So I waged an internal battle about whether or not I want to do an ep-by-ep recap of the Poldark season as I did with Game of Thrones, then decided I would compromise and do a review after the first half was over.

For tonight, I needed a different thing, then.

Going to consult my trusty sheep booklet, I perused through the notes I'd jotted down while I was watching different movies, and finally decided on one that I'm so puzzled about that I doubt I've seen the light yet.

No, scratch that, I haven't, let's be honest here.

I'm talking about Allegiant.

Talkie Tuesday: The Mockingjay, pt. 2

"She has become mythical."

Hello everyone!

So this past Saturday, IT HAPPENED.

You know what I'm talking about.

Can you tell I'm excited yet?

I will admit. The Hunger Games as a whole have never been one of my favourite dystopian stories (I prefer the Divergent series books), but the movies have certainly made it likeable despite everything, and like everyone who has been following them, I wanted to see if the ending would be just as everything was in the books, or what was promised.

Turns out, it was, and with the impact of it happening on-screen, it was even better.

Talkie Tuesday: Insurgent

"I'm factionless because I don't fit in any one faction. And you're Divergent because you belong to too many."

Hello everyone!

So, I have a confession to make.

Well, it shouldn't be too weird to some of you who know me, because sometimes, this is just how I get. I wanted to see Insurgent as soon as was humanly possible once it was released, because, well, I love the Divergent series and I am definitely a big fan. Also, the first movie was quite amazing as far as everything goes.

But then I'm not exactly sure what happened.

Friends kept asking me if I'd seen Insurgent already or what, and all the time, my answer would be 'No, not yet', 'Working on it' or 'I'm getting there'.

What happened?

I really have no idea.

For some odd reason, once I got the chance to actually see the movie, I was hesitant. Maybe it was a sixth sense telling me all about it.

Saturday Snippet

Hello everyone!

So getting back into the swing of things here after vacation, I really couldn't help myself and drove one town over to a big shopping center where I could indulge in browsing through a LOT of movie DVDs. I'm a little bit of a hoarder in these cases, really, but I'm also conscious of the fact that spending big money on this stuff won't win me any favours anywhere (but let's not talk about The Hobbit EEs, kay? Kay).

What I happened to stumble upon was a bit of a sale where you can pretty much purchase between five or six DVDs without spending too much money, or doing the math, you can get these for a price of one and a half of the usual, which is pretty nifty for someone like me.

You can see I splurged a bit, because really, handsome men deserve to be watched on the big screen. Also, the Immortals DVD was the last one, so lucky me!

Additionally, I also got the King's Speech and Draft Day, and the Jason Statham movie is titled Blitz.

Talkie Tuesday: The Mockingjay, pt. 1

Hello everyone!

I seem to always start the blog with the same two words - oops! Oh well, I guess I'll eventually figure out a better greeting or something. In the meantime, I'm going to jump right into the movie review for this week, and I think you're going to like the topic. Or I hope you will!

This past weekend, I got some much-needed friend time in, as a couple of my girlfriends got together for a movie night. Honorary mention goes to: boyfriend of one of them, who had to put up with FOUR women all on his own through the movie, and then the subsequent conversation after it was over. Thumbs up and a whole lot of stars, considering it really can't have been easy, but we DID have a blast, all of us! The Mockingjay was picked because, back when the last part of the Hobbit was playing in cinemas, there was a consensus that it would be viewed in theatre, and then we'd get together for the Mockingjay later on, all of us, in the comfort of someone's home, where we could just relax, unwind, and comment to our hearts' content. That's precisely what we did, and if the movie itself lacked in substantial action, at least there were four others around you who felt the same way and you could complain out loud!
