Tome Thursday: Anything Ghost

Hello everyone!

Welcome back, and I hope your Easter proved both entertaining and heart-warming.

Unfortunately, the Christian world lost its venerated Pope earlier this week, and of course people will be mourning him. I, personally, only really followed him through the news, but he was a very forward-thinking man and a modern man at that, so I believe the world at large absolutely lost a great figure, overall.

That said, we can only hope the Vatican now elects someone who will lead them forward through these turbulent times.

And speaking of turbulent.

One of our favourite amateur sleuths is back this week, in the book I picked for tonight's review post. She's been absent from regular publications for a couple of months, but we already know that the fifth book in the series is on the way, so never fear!

Put on your thinking caps and some glitter, because we're headed to the heart of gambling and desert show business tonight, in Anything Ghost.

Tome Thursday: Lily & Thorne

Hello everyone!

Welcome back.

As I plan to take next Tuesday off (this weekend being Easter and all that jazz), I thought I'd dig up the last vestiges of energy I can possibly summon and get a book review up and running.

After all, this is what the blog is all about, right?

Right.

So without further ado, we're heading straight into another ARC.

Because I've been so INSANELY lucky that the absolutely incredible and lovely Rhiannon Hargadon invited me to be a part of her team - The Darklings, IYKYK - and I received this short story one as an introduction, really.

Then again, I've read her Descendants of the Fates series thus far - haven't blogged them yet, might do in future however - and LOVED IT. So I was crazy pleased to be invited along for the ride.

Here we go then, into a slightly easier starter: Lily & Thorne!

Talkie Tuesday: Kalki 2898 AD

"For tomorrow."

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to another Bollywood movie of choice.

I'm sure you could all pretty much see this coming, as I tend to be sucked into Bollywood every once in a while over periods of time.

What can I say? I thoroughly enjoy the drama haha!

That, and there are a few faces across their silver screens that I really enjoy watching, and tonight's would-be heroine is definitely one of them.

But considering that this is some sort of weird, dystopian reimagining of the future? Yeah, one could say you need to sit there and pay attention when you actually watch. I had to go back to the beginning to double check because I had a long pause between my sittings.

ANYWAY.

Without further ado, let's check what the Indians have to say about a not-so-bright future, shall we? In Kalki 2898 AD.

Tome Thursday: Love Ghost On

Hello everyone!

This week we're taking a look at a very cute, wholesome short story, that you can get if you join this specific author's newsletter, and I'm telling you it's totally worth it.

If nothing else, you get a very cute doggo, a funny ghost cat, and some great poetry to boot!

I accidentally found Dina Marie on BookSirens when I thought the cover of her first book looked cute and well done, featuring a red-headed heroine, a ghostly hero, and a dog and cat.

It seemed to be drawn rather than a realistic photoshoot, and that's definitely something that's appealing to me in today's day and age of AI covers and whatnot!

Overall, her cozy mysteries series has definitely carved its place in my heart, even if I don't necessarily enjoy every single page of what's written.

So without further ado, let's hop straight into this novella that takes place between books one and two, and gives us a little more insight into both the heroes, as well as what's possibly to come in the series as a whole!

Love Ghost On, everybody.

Talkie Tuesday: Mujhse Dosti Karoge!

"Love is sacrifice."

Hello everyone!

I'm finally back, after pretty much living like a vampire for the past ten-ish days or so.

I generally have no problems getting up in the middle of the night and heading into work, but truth be told it IS nice to be back on afternoon shifts for a little while. I have to admit as much!

That said, with afternoon shifts and my schedule evening out a bit (for now ...), it's back to the drawing board, baby, and with it, my review posts.

Tonight's movie of choice is a return to old school Bollywood and, yes, you should have seen it coming, that I'll be going back that is.

Because I love Bollywood movies. I tend to enjoy some of their campiness and silliness, and their stories usually bring a lot of laughter, general happy feelings, and a sense of amusement as well as contentment in the end.

So buckle up, because we're headed back to the start of the 2000s, and that includes layered tops, velvet denim, and Mujhse Dosti Karoge!
