Hello everyone!
So yesterday was national Miner's day here in my country, and there was the annual parade through the city (which I missed, unfortunately)!
It's a lovely tradition of accepting new miners into the ranks by having them walk through town in uniform to the stadium and then jump across a "skin" (which was once used by miners to sit on as they slid down into the mines) and thus become part of the larger group.
The red carnation is the flower miners wear on their uniform as they march.
